## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Contact & Company Enricher: Emails, Phones, Socials, Tech Stack

Turn any list of websites into **ready-to-use B2B leads**. For each domain this Actor visits the homepage and the pages most likely to hold contact details (Contact, Imprint/Legal notice, About, Team) and returns:

- 📧 **Emails**, including addresses hidden behind Cloudflare email protection, `name [at] domain [dot] com` obfuscation and structured data, classified as **company emails** vs **external emails** (web agency credits, regulators, placeholders)
- 📞 **Phone numbers** normalized to international E.164 format (tel: links, WhatsApp buttons, structured data and labelled numbers; fax numbers excluded)
- 🌐 **Social profiles**: LinkedIn company page, Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, WhatsApp, Pinterest, GitHub, Telegram, Yelp, Tripadvisor
- 🏢 **Company info**: name, description, logo, address, country, language, business type, opening hours, rating and review count
- 🧰 **Tech stack**: 90+ technologies (WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, WooCommerce, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Intercom, Stripe, booking systems, Cloudflare…)
- 🩺 **Site health**: flags parked, suspended and "coming soon" sites so you don't waste outreach on dead businesses

**You only pay for websites where contact details are found.** Unreachable, parked or contact-less sites are free.

### Why use it?

- **Enrich Google Maps leads**: run any Google Maps scraper, then pass its dataset ID here to add emails and social profiles to every business.
- **Build prospect lists by technology**: find Shopify stores using Klaviyo, WordPress sites without analytics, restaurants using OpenTable…
- **Clean your CRM**: verify which company websites are still alive and get fresh contact details.
- **Replace Clearbit-style enrichment** for small and local businesses that big databases don't cover.
- **Agencies**: qualify leads by stack (e.g. "uses Wix, no Meta Pixel") before you pitch.

### How much does it cost?

| Event | Price |
| --- | --- |
| Website with contact details found | **$5 per 1,000 websites** ($0.005 each) |
| Website unreachable, parked or without contacts | Free |

No per-page fees: up to 15 pages per site are included. Example: 2,000 restaurant websites from Google Maps, 1,400 with contacts found ≈ **$7**.

### How to use

1. Paste websites (one per line: `acme.com`, `https://www.acme.com`) **or** enter the **dataset ID** of a previous run (e.g. a Google Maps scraper) and the field that holds the URL (`website` by default).
2. Optionally set **Max pages per website**, **Only emails on the company's own domain** and a **default country** for phone numbers.
3. Click **Start**. Export the **Leads** view as CSV/Excel, or fetch it through the API.

### Data quality features

- **Company vs external emails**: emails on the website's domain or on personal providers (Gmail, Outlook…) are company emails. Addresses of other organizations (web agency credits, chambers and regulators in legal notices, example addresses in screenshots) are kept separately in `externalEmails`. If an email uses a second domain owned by the same business (one that redirects to the website), it's recognized as a company email.
- **MX verification** drops emails whose domain can't receive mail.
- **Junk filtering** removes image file names, tracking IDs and placeholder addresses.
- **Smart crawling** follows contact, imprint, legal notice, about and team links in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian and Portuguese, and skips blog posts.
- **Fallbacks**: if `https://` fails, it retries with `http://` and with/without `www.`, a common fix for small-business sites.

### Integrations

Use it from Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, webhooks, the Apify API, or AI agents through the Apify MCP server. Chain it after a Google Maps or Yellow Pages scraper with Apify's actor-to-actor integrations.

### FAQ

**Does it find personal emails of employees?**
Only addresses the company publishes on its own website. It doesn't guess email patterns or use third-party databases.

**Does it work on JavaScript-heavy sites?**
It reads the server-rendered HTML, which covers the vast majority of business sites (WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow…). Contact details rendered only by client-side JavaScript may be missed.

**Is it legal?**
It collects information businesses publish on their public websites. If you use the data for outreach, comply with the rules where you and your recipients are (GDPR, ePrivacy/LSSI, CAN-SPAM…), for example by honoring opt-outs and using a legitimate-interest basis for B2B contact.

## `sourceDatasetId` (type: `string`):

ID of an Apify dataset to read websites from, e.g. the output of a Google Maps scraper run. Combined with the list above.

## `sourceUrlField` (type: `string`):

Name of the field holding the website URL in the dataset items.

## `maxPagesPerSite` (type: `integer`):

Homepage plus the most likely contact pages (contact, imprint/legal notice, about, team). 1 = homepage only.
