## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Aruba.it Hosting & Domain Price Scraper

Scrape the public price list of **aruba.it**, Italy's largest hosting provider. The actor visits Aruba's product pages on `hosting.aruba.it` and turns every priced offer into a clean record. Offers include hosting plans (Linux, Windows, Cloud, WordPress, WooCommerce), domain extensions (.it, .com, .eu, .cloud, .ai ...), email and PEC, SuperSite, Aruba Drive and add-ons such as databases, SSL, statistics and SEO tools.

No login, no browser and no API key are needed. The data is the same public information any visitor sees on aruba.it.

### What it collects

For every offer:

- **name**, **category**, **pageName**, **badge** (e.g. `PER INIZIARE`, `PROMO`), **description**
- **price** (EUR), **priceText**, **priceFrom** (a "starting from" price), **vatExcluded** (`+ IVA`), **billingPeriod** (`1º anno`, `anno`, `cad.`)
- **renewalPrice** and **renewalText**, so you can compare the first-year promo price with the real yearly cost
- **features**: the included items listed on the plan card
- **attributes**: comparison-table columns such as RAM, control panel and operating system
- **articleId**, **domainExtension** and **checkout** (buy-button link and label)
- **url** (product page), **sourceUrl** (page where the offer was found), **recordType**, **scrapedAt**

The same plan shown on several pages is saved only once.

### Input

| Field | Type | Description | Default |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `startUrls` | array | aruba.it pages to scrape first. A `www.aruba.it` page returns the products of the main menu. | – |
| `crawlSitemap` | boolean | Also crawl every Italian product page from the hosting.aruba.it sitemap | `true` |
| `maxResults` | integer | Maximum number of offers to save | `50` |
| `maxPages` | integer | Maximum number of pages to download | `150` |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Optional proxy. aruba.it usually works without one. | no proxy |

Example input:

```json
{
  "startUrls": [{ "url": "https://hosting.aruba.it/web-hosting/linux" }],
  "crawlSitemap": true,
  "maxResults": 50
}
```

### Example output

```json
{
  "name": "Hosting Linux Basic",
  "category": "Hosting",
  "pageName": "Hosting Linux",
  "badge": "PER INIZIARE",
  "description": "La configurazione base più economica e con la massima libertà di personalizzazione, con tanti servizi aggiuntivi da scegliere.",
  "features": ["1 dominio con certificato SSL DV incluso", "HiSpeed Cache", "Spazio web e traffico illimitati", "5 caselle email 1 GB"],
  "attributes": {},
  "price": 9.9,
  "priceText": "9,90 €",
  "priceFrom": true,
  "currency": "EUR",
  "vatExcluded": true,
  "billingPeriod": "1º anno",
  "renewalPrice": 34.99,
  "renewalText": "rinnovo da 34,99 € + IVA / anno",
  "articleId": "4176",
  "domainExtension": null,
  "checkout": { "url": "https://managehosting.aruba.it/cart/v2/it/hub/start?articleId=4176", "label": "Acquista" },
  "url": "https://hosting.aruba.it/web-hosting/linux",
  "sourceUrl": "https://hosting.aruba.it/web-hosting/linux",
  "recordType": "price-card",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-13T06:24:29.384840+00:00"
}
```

### Use cases

- Monitor hosting and domain price changes in the Italian market
- Compare first-year promotions with renewal prices
- Build a domain extension price list for .it, .com, .eu and new gTLDs
- Feed competitor pricing dashboards for hosting resellers and agencies

### Pricing

You pay per result: every offer saved to the dataset is one billable result (pay-per-dataset-item). A full crawl of the catalog returns about 110-120 unique offers, and you can cap the cost with `maxResults`.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

aruba.it pages to scrape first, e.g. a hosting, domain or email product page on hosting.aruba.it. A www.aruba.it page returns the products of the main 'Prodotti e Servizi' menu. Pages on other domains are skipped.

## `crawlSitemap` (type: `boolean`):

Also visit every Italian product page listed in the hosting.aruba.it sitemap (hosting, domains, email, WordPress, SuperSite, Aruba Drive ...) after the start URLs.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of offer records to save. Duplicates of the same plan across pages are saved once.

## `maxPages` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of pages to download in one run.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional proxy. aruba.it is public and usually works without a proxy.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    {
      "url": "https://hosting.aruba.it/web-hosting/linux"
    }
  ],
  "crawlSitemap": true,
  "maxResults": 50,
  "maxPages": 150,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": [
      "RESIDENTIAL"
    ]
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Dataset with the scraped offers.
