## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Baidu Maps Business Scraper for China

Collect publicly visible business listings from Baidu Maps by keyword and city. The Actor reads the server-rendered mobile listing pages and returns the values present on each card: Baidu place UID, business name, area, rating, average price in CNY, category, opening hours, highlights, standardized tags, result rank, and the Baidu Maps listing URL. Values that are not shown for a listing are omitted.

### Input

Provide one to five search keywords. Set the numeric Baidu city code when you want a city other than Beijing, whose code is 131. The default result limit is 50 rows across all keywords. Proxy configuration is optional; when Apify Proxy is disabled or omitted, requests run without a proxy.

Example input:

```
{
  "queries": ["餐馆"],
  "cityCode": 131,
  "maxResults": 10,
  "proxyConfiguration": {"useApifyProxy": false}
}
```

The Actor follows Baidu Maps pagination and stops when it reaches maxResults or the source has no further listings. Each Dataset row is a real listing parsed from the page returned by Baidu Maps. Search results can vary by city, keyword, and source availability.

### Output

The Dataset provides one row per listing with the search query, UID, name, area, public rating and average price when present, visible category, opening hours, highlights, tags, rank, and source URL. It does not manufacture coordinates, distances, scores, or missing values.

### Pricing

The reference price for this build is US$0.004 per result row. The platform charges each item written to the Dataset; check the Store listing for the price shown to buyers.

### Notes

Baidu Maps can change its page structure, available fields, and regional access behavior. This Actor collects public listing information and does not log in or access private account data.
