## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Dzen.ru Scraper: Articles, Channels & Discovery Feed

Dzen.ru Scraper turns Dzen (ex Yandex.Zen), Russia's largest content platform, into clean structured data. Paste a channel link and get its publications newest first, walk the public discovery feed, or paste single article links for the full text. No login, no cookies to copy. Export to JSON, CSV or Excel, or pull the results through the Apify API.

### What it collects

Every record is one publication (article) with:

- **Content**: title, lead text (preview snippet), cover image, reading time, and the **full article text** (optional).
- **Dates**: publication time and, with full text, last modification time (ISO 8601, UTC).
- **Engagement**: views, views read to the end, comments count, likes when Dzen exposes them, whether comments are enabled.
- **Channel**: channel ID, name, URL, description, **subscriber count** and verified flag.
- **Flags**: premium and promo publication markers.

Fields Dzen does not publish for a given item (for example likes on some channel listings) are left out of that record instead of being filled with empty values.

### Modes

| Mode | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Channel & article links** | Scrapes the publications of every pasted channel (`https://dzen.ru/tass` or just `tass`), newest first, page by page. Pasted article links (`https://dzen.ru/a/...`) are scraped as single records with the full text. |
| **Discovery feed** | Scrapes the public dzen.ru home feed. |

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `mode` | string | `channel` | `channel` or `feed`. |
| `urls` | array | `["https://dzen.ru/tass"]` | Channel links, bare channel names or article links. Ignored in feed mode. |
| `includeFullText` | boolean | `false` | Open every article page to add `full_text` and `modified_at`. One extra request per record, so runs are slower. |
| `maxResults` | integer | `50` | Maximum number of records in total. The scraper stops as soon as it is reached. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Apify Proxy | Optional. Use Apify Proxy, your own proxy URLs, or turn the proxy off to connect directly. |

Example input:

```json
{
  "mode": "channel",
  "urls": ["https://dzen.ru/tass"],
  "includeFullText": true,
  "maxResults": 50
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per result: you are charged for every record the Actor writes to the dataset, and nothing for records it does not return. The exact price per 1,000 results is shown on the Pricing tab of this Actor. Set `maxResults` to cap the cost of a run.

### Tips

- Dzen first answers a new session with a short single-sign-on page; the Actor completes that handshake automatically and keeps the session (and its proxy IP) for the whole run.
- Channel publications are read from Dzen's own pagination, 20 records per page, so large `maxResults` values simply mean more pages.
- Dzen is a Russian service. If a run is refused from a datacenter IP, switch the proxy configuration to a residential Apify Proxy group.
- A run that collects zero records fails loudly instead of returning an empty dataset.

### Limitations

- Only public data is collected. Nothing that needs a login (private channels, personal subscriptions) is available.
- Comments text, video and short-video tabs are not collected in this version: the Actor returns publications (articles).

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

Channel links: scrape the publications of the pasted Dzen channels (newest first) and any pasted article links. Discovery feed: scrape the public dzen.ru home feed.

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Channel links (https://dzen.ru/tass), bare channel names (tass) or article links (https://dzen.ru/a/...). Ignored in Discovery feed mode.

## `includeFullText` (type: `boolean`):

Open every article page to add the complete text and the modification time. Slower: one extra request per record. Article links always include the full text.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of publication records to collect in total.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional. Apify Proxy or your own proxies. Leave Apify Proxy off to connect directly.
