## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Epey Scraper — Turkey Prices & Spec Comparison

Scrape Epey.com's spec-comparison listings — phones, TVs, laptops, smartwatches and other electronics categories on the Turkish price-comparison site. For every product in a category page you get its name, brand, price in Turkish lira, how many sites/offers list it, a technical score, and the full spec table for that category (screen size, RAM, battery, panel type, etc. — whatever columns the category exposes).

#### What it scrapes

Epey.com renders each category (e.g. `akilli-telefonlar` for smartphones) as a server-rendered comparison table: one header row defining the spec columns for that category, and one row per product. The actor reads the header first, so the same parser adapts automatically to whatever spec columns a category shows — phones surface screen/storage/RAM/battery, TVs surface size/panel, and so on, with no per-category code changes needed. Pages are paginated (31 products per page) and the actor walks pages until it hits `maxItems`, runs out of products, or reaches an unknown-category soft-404.

#### Input

- **Category slug** (`category`, text) — the Epey category from the URL path, e.g. `akilli-telefonlar` (smartphones), `televizyon` (TVs), `dizustu-bilgisayar` (laptops), `akilli-saat` (smartwatches). Defaults to `akilli-telefonlar`.
- **Max products** (`maxItems`, number) — cap on how many products to return across all pages. Set to `0` for everything available. Default 31 (one page). You're charged per product returned, so this is your budget control.
- **Proxy configuration** (`proxyConfiguration`) — Apify Proxy, prefilled to RESIDENTIAL group with country TR. No external proxy account or key needed from you; it's wired in and ready out of the box.

#### Output fields

One dataset record per product:

- `product_id`, `name`, `brand` (inferred from the product name), `variant`
- `price`, `currency` (parsed from Turkish-format price text, e.g. `"119.999,00 TL"` → `119999.0` / `"TL"`), `num_sites`, `num_offers` (how many retailers/listings the price is aggregated from)
- `score` — Epey's technical comparison score for the product
- `specs` — a dynamic object of category-specific spec labels → values (e.g. `"Ekran Boyutu"`, `"Bellek (RAM)"` for phones), taken straight from that category's own header row
- `url`, `image_url`
- `category`, `page_number`, `scraped_at` — provenance fields

#### Pricing

Pay-per-result (PPE) — billed per product record returned (event: `product-item`). Only successfully pushed products are charged; a blocked or empty run charges nothing. See the Store pricing tab for the current per-result rate.

#### Notes

The actor fetches pages through Apify's Residential proxy (Turkey exit) with a Chrome-impersonating HTTP client, which is what makes reading Epey's server-rendered tables reliable — no browser, no CAPTCHA-solving needed for this target. If a page comes back too small or with a blocking status code, the actor rotates its proxy session and retries rather than pushing partial or garbage data. Unknown category slugs are detected as Epey's own soft-404 page and reported as a clean "not found," not a silent empty result.

# Actor input Schema

## `category` (type: `string`):

Epey category slug from the URL path. Examples: 'akilli-telefonlar' (smartphones), 'televizyon' (TVs), 'dizustu-bilgisayar' (laptops), 'akilli-saat' (smartwatches). Defaults to 'akilli-telefonlar'.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of products to return across all pages (31 per page). Set 0 for all available. You are charged per product returned.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Residential proxy with country TR is recommended for reliable access. No external proxy account needed.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "category": "akilli-telefonlar",
  "maxItems": 31,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": [
      "RESIDENTIAL"
    ],
    "apifyProxyCountry": "TR"
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Dataset containing Epey product records (name, brand, variant, price, currency, num_sites, num_offers, score, specs, category, url, image_url).

};

// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("bovi/epey-spec-scraper").call(input);

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
