## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Sephora Product Search Scraper

Search sephora.com by keyword and collect real product search results. Each record includes the product and brand names, product and API URLs, available image URLs, price, rating, review count, SKU identifiers, and availability or promotion flags returned by Sephora. The actor uses Sephora's public search endpoint and does not require an account login.

### Input

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| keyword | string | Yes | lipstick | Product search phrase. |
| maxResults | integer | No | 50 | Maximum number of records to return, up to 1,200. |
| proxyConfiguration | object | No | Disabled | Optional Apify proxy configuration. When useApifyProxy is false or omitted, requests connect directly. |

Example input:

```
{
  "keyword": "lipstick",
  "maxResults": 10,
  "proxyConfiguration": {"useApifyProxy": false}
}
```

### Example output

```
{
  "source": "sephora_search",
  "search_keyword": "lipstick",
  "page": 1,
  "position": 1,
  "title": "M·A·Cximal Silky Matte 12HR Wear Lipstick",
  "productId": "P510799",
  "brandName": "MAC Cosmetics",
  "productName": "M·A·Cximal Silky Matte 12HR Wear Lipstick",
  "productUrl": "https://www.sephora.com/product/mac-cosmetics-m-a-cximal-silky-matte-lipstick-P510799?skuId=2837425",
  "listPrice": "$16.00 - $25.00",
  "rating": 4.5863,
  "reviews": 771,
  "skuId": "2837425"
}
```

Fields are omitted when Sephora does not provide their values for a product. `maxResults` is applied across all fetched pages.

### Pricing

The supplied champion listing shows dataset-item pricing of $0.005 per result on paid tiers and $0.02 per result on the Free tier. Apify may also apply an actor-start event charge; check the platform's current pricing before running paid jobs.
