## Pricing

from $30.00 / 1,000 part searcheds

This Actor is paid per event and usage. You are charged both the fixed price for specific events and for Apify platform usage.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does PC Parts Price Finder: Newegg & B\&H do?

PC Parts Price Finder looks up a PC part at **Newegg and B\&H Photo at the same time** and gives you one list of matching listings, sorted cheapest first.

Give it part names, like `Ryzen 7 7800X3D` or `Samsung 990 Pro 2TB`. For every part it returns the cheapest price, which store has it, the cheapest price at each store, and every matching listing with its title, price and a link to buy it.

It never buys anything and never signs in anywhere. It only reads public search results.

### Why use it?

- **Buy each part where it is cheapest.** Newegg and B\&H often differ by tens of dollars on the same card or SSD. One row shows you both.
- **Price a whole build.** Put every part of a build in one run and export the table to a spreadsheet, or schedule it to watch prices drop.
- **AI agents.** Connect it as an MCP server and let an agent price parts while it plans a build.

### How it works

For each part it reads, at the same time:

1. **Newegg** search results
2. **B\&H Photo** search results
3. **Micro Center** search results, when Micro Center answers (it often does not, so treat it as a bonus)

Listings that match the part are kept and sorted cheapest first. Cables, adapters and brackets sold "for" a part are left out unless you asked for one. If a store does not answer, the row says so, so a partial result never looks complete.

### Input

| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `parts` | Yes | One part per entry, by model name. `"RTX 5070"` and `{ "part": "RTX 5070" }` both work. |
| `maxConcurrency` | No | Parts searched at once, 1 to 8. Default `4`. |

Example input:

```json
{ "parts": ["Ryzen 7 7800X3D", "RTX 5070", "Samsung 990 Pro 2TB", "Corsair RM850x"] }
```

### Output

One dataset row per part. Download it as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read it through the Apify API.

```json
{
  "part": "Samsung 990 Pro 2TB",
  "status": "found",
  "cheapestPrice": 408.95,
  "cheapestStore": "Newegg",
  "cheapestTitle": "SAMSUNG 990 PRO 2TB SSD, PCIe Gen4 M.2 2280 ... (MZ-V9P2T0B/AM) Non-Heatsink",
  "cheapestUrl": "https://www.newegg.com/samsung-2tb-990-pro-nvme-2-0/p/N82E16820147861",
  "cheapestByStore": { "Newegg": 408.95, "B&H": 409.99 },
  "offerCount": 6,
  "offers": [
    {
      "store": "B&H",
      "title": "Samsung 2TB 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD",
      "price": 409.99,
      "url": "https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1726548-REG/samsung_mz_v9p2t0b_am_2tb_990_pro_pcie.html"
    }
  ],
  "warnings": ["Micro Center did not answer this time, so its prices are missing from this row. Run the part again to include them."],
  "error": null
}
```

`status` is `found`, `not_found` or `error`. `not_found` means the stores answered and none listed a match for that name, which is a real answer (a part that is discontinued, or a name spelled in a way no store uses).

### Pricing

**$0.03 per part**, with no monthly fee.

- A part is charged whether or not a store lists it, because the stores are searched either way.
- A part that fails with an error is not charged.
- Set a spending limit on the run and the Actor stops cleanly when it reaches it.
- On Apify's free plan, each run processes the first 10 parts (10 tool calls per MCP session). Any paid Apify plan removes the limit.

### Use it as an MCP server

This Actor also runs as an MCP server with one tool, `compare_pc_part_prices`. Point any MCP client (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, your own agent) at:

```
https://bowmark-ai--pc-parts-price-finder.apify.actor/mcp
```

with your Apify API token as a bearer token. Each tool call is billed like one part in a normal run.

### Limits and good practice

- It reads only **public** pages. It never signs in anywhere and never changes anything.
- Prices are US store prices in USD, as listed at the moment of the run.
- Use a specific model name. `"WD Black SN850X 2TB"` finds that drive; `"SSD"` finds whatever is cheapest.
- Check the listing title before you buy. A search can match a bundle or a close variant (with heatsink, OEM, open box) of the part you named.

### Questions or a wrong result?

Open an issue on the **Issues** tab with the input you used and what you expected. We read every one.

# Actor input Schema

## `parts` (type: `array`):

One part per entry, by model name, like "Ryzen 7 7800X3D" or "WD Black SN850X 2TB". Up to 500 per run (10 on Apify's free plan). A specific model name gives tighter matches than a general word like "SSD".

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many parts are searched in parallel.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "parts": [
    "Samsung 990 Pro 2TB"
  ],
  "maxConcurrency": 4
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One row per part: the cheapest price and store, the cheapest per store, and every matching listing.
