## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Brazil Companies Certificates API

Issue official Brazilian company certificates by CNPJ through a simple Batch Actor or real-time Standby API. Receive the certificate status, validity, protocol, structured details and a downloadable PDF or HTML file hosted in the run's Apify key-value store.

This Actor is designed for KYB onboarding, supplier verification, compliance, due diligence and recurring company monitoring in Brazil.

### ✅ Supported certificates

- **PGFN** — Federal tax clearance certificate
- **FGTS** — Employer Regularity Certificate
- **Labor lawsuits** — TRT-2/SP certificate
- **CNDT** — National Labor Debts Clearance Certificate
- **CGU** — CEIS, CNEP and CEPIM negative certificate
- **CNJ** — Administrative misconduct and ineligibility certificate
- **IBAMA** — Environmental debts negative certificate
- **COMEX** — Radar Siscomex authorization

### 🚀 Input

```json
{
  "cnpjs": ["33.000.167/0001-01", "60701190000104"],
  "certificates": ["fgts", "debitos_trabalhistas"]
}
```

`cnpjs` accepts one or more valid CNPJs, with or without punctuation, up to 50 per run. Omit `certificates` or select `ALL` to issue every supported certificate.

### 📦 Complete output example

```json
{
  "cnpj": "33000167000101",
  "formattedCnpj": "33.000.167/0001-01",
  "certificateType": "fgts",
  "certificateName": "FGTS - Employer Regularity Certificate",
  "status": "REGULAR",
  "protocolNumber": "202608130001",
  "fileUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/STORE_ID/records/cert-33000167000101-fgts",
  "validUntil": "2026-08-22",
  "additionalData": {
    "CompanyName": "EXAMPLE COMPANY S.A.",
    "CertificateNumber": "202608130001",
    "Validity": "2026-08-13 to 2026-08-22"
  },
  "queriedAt": "2026-08-13T20:30:00.000Z",
  "error": null,
  "charged": true
}
```

Each Dataset row represents one CNPJ and one certificate type. `additionalData` varies by certificate. The PDF or HTML certificate file is hosted in the run's key-value store and linked through `fileUrl`.

### ⚡ Standby API

Send `POST /certificates` with the same input. Successful requests return a JSON array. Validation errors use HTTP `400`, bodies larger than 5 MB use HTTP `413`, processing errors use HTTP `500`, and charge-limit responses use HTTP `402` with paid partial results under `results`.

### 💳 Pricing

One `certificate-issued` event is charged per certificate successfully issued and delivered. Certificates that cannot be issued do not create output rows and are not billed.
