## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### ATS jobs API: every open job from Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Recruitee and Personio

Get **every open job** from any company that hires through **Greenhouse**, **Lever**, **Ashby**, **SmartRecruiters**, **Workable**, **Recruitee** or **Personio**. Paste careers-page URLs or board tokens. The Actor finds the ATS by itself, reads the company's **official public job API or feed**, and gives you one clean, normalized record per job.

- **7 applicant tracking systems, one schema.** Title, location, remote flag, department, employment type, posted date, salary, apply URL and the full description in text and HTML.
- **Monitor mode for job alerts.** Turn on **Monitor mode**, schedule the Actor, and every run returns only the jobs that are **new since the last run**. You pay only for new jobs. Send them to Slack, email or a spreadsheet with Apify integrations.
- **No scraping, no browser, no proxies.** Data comes from the public APIs and feeds that these ATSs publish for careers pages, so it is as fresh as the company's own careers site.
- **Fast and cheap.** About 2,000 jobs from 5 companies in under 10 seconds. $3 per 1,000 jobs. No monthly fee.

### What you get

- **One row per open job**, with the same fields for all 7 ATSs: title, company, location, remote flag and workplace type, department, employment type, posted date, salary range, apply URL, and the full description as text and HTML.
- **Only new jobs** when **Monitor mode** is on, for daily or hourly job alerts.
- **Your choice of format:** JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or the API and the Apify MCP server.
- **A list of misses:** the run log names every company that did not load.
- **$3 per 1,000 jobs.** On the free Apify plan, up to 100 jobs per run.

### Quick start

1. Paste careers-page URLs into **Companies**, for example `https://boards.greenhouse.io/airbnb`.
2. Click **Start**. The prefilled example returns 20 jobs from each of 3 companies in about 10 seconds.
3. Download JSON, CSV or Excel, or turn on **Monitor mode** and add a schedule for new-job alerts.

### Supported ATSs

| Personio        | `https://westwing.jobs.personio.com`       | [Open positions XML feed](https://developer.personio.de/docs/retrieving-open-job-positions)                      |

### Monitor mode: get only new jobs (job alerts)

1. Add your companies and filters, and turn on **Monitor mode**.
2. Click **Save as a new task**. Each saved task keeps its own list of seen jobs.
3. In the task, open **Schedules** and add a schedule, for example every day at 8:00 (cron `0 8 * * *`) or every hour (`0 * * * *`).
4. In the task, open **Integrations** and connect where the new jobs go:
   - **Slack:** add the Slack integration and pick a channel. Apify posts a message with a link to the new jobs after each run.
   - **Email:** add the email integration (or Gmail) to get the run results in your inbox.
   - **Spreadsheet or app:** Google Sheets, Google Drive, Zapier, Make, n8n or a webhook to your own endpoint.

How it works: the Actor stores the job IDs it returned for each board in a named key-value store called `careers-jobs-seen` in your Apify account. The first run returns every current job. Each later run returns only jobs that are not in that list, and you pay only for those. Jobs that close are removed from the list. Jobs held back by **Max jobs per company**, the run's maximum cost or the free-plan cap stay "new" and come in the next run. Delete the store to start over.

### What can you do with it?

- **Job boards and aggregators:** fill a niche job board (remote, AI, fintech, climate) with fresh jobs from a curated list of companies, every day.
- **Recruiting and sales intelligence:** see who is hiring for which roles, in which cities, and at what salary. Hiring is a strong buying signal.
- **Market and salary research:** compare pay ranges, remote policy and team growth across companies.
- **AI agents and LLM apps:** call the Actor as a tool (API or Apify MCP server) to answer "Which of these companies hire ML engineers in London?" with real data.
- **Job alerts:** schedule it with **Monitor mode** and send new matches to Slack, email or a spreadsheet.

### How to use it

1. Add companies to **Companies**, one per line. Any of these forms work:

| You paste                                                       | Detected as            |
| --------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------- |
| `https://boards.greenhouse.io/airbnb`                           | Greenhouse, `airbnb`   |
| `https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/airbnb/jobs/8184174`          | Greenhouse, `airbnb`   |
| `https://job-boards.eu.greenhouse.io/name`                      | Greenhouse, `name`     |
| `https://boards.greenhouse.io/embed/job_board?for=airbnb`       | Greenhouse, `airbnb`   |
| `https://boards-api.greenhouse.io/v1/boards/airbnb/jobs`        | Greenhouse, `airbnb`   |
| `https://jobs.lever.co/spotify` (or a job or `/apply` URL)      | Lever, `spotify`       |
| `https://jobs.eu.lever.co/name`                                 | Lever EU, `name`       |
| `https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp` (or a job or application URL)   | Ashby, `ramp`          |
| `https://api.ashbyhq.com/posting-api/job-board/ramp`            | Ashby, `ramp`          |
| `https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/Equinox` (or a job URL)       | SmartRecruiters        |
| `https://apply.workable.com/huggingface` or `name.workable.com` | Workable               |
| `https://bunq.recruitee.com` (or an offer URL)                  | Recruitee, `bunq`      |
| `https://westwing.jobs.personio.com` (`.de` too)                | Personio, `westwing`   |
| `greenhouse:airbnb`, `workable:huggingface`, `personio:name`    | as written             |
| `airbnb` (bare token) | tries all seven ATSs |
| `airbnb.com` or a custom careers URL                            | guesses token `airbnb` |

2. Optionally add filters: keywords, locations, departments, remote only, posted within N days.
3. Click **Start**. Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read them through the API.

For a bare token or a company domain, the Actor tries Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Recruitee and Personio in that order, and uses the first board it finds. A custom careers URL that carries `gh_jid` or `ashby_jid` is sent to that ATS first.

### Output example

One item per job, with the same fields for every ATS:

```json
{
    "company": "Airbnb",
    "title": "Account Manager",
    "location": "London, United Kingdom",
    "locations": ["London, United Kingdom"],
    "isRemote": false,
    "workplaceType": "hybrid",
    "department": "Business Development",
    "team": null,
    "employmentType": null,
    "postedAt": "2026-09-09T08:35:19.000Z",
    "updatedAt": "2026-09-30T00:00:54.000Z",
    "salary": {
        "min": 46000,
        "max": 54000,
        "currency": "GBP",
        "interval": "year",
        "text": "United Kingdom Annual Pay Range",
        "source": "ats"
    },
    "applyUrl": "https://careers.airbnb.com/positions/8184174?gh_jid=8184174",
    "jobUrl": "https://careers.airbnb.com/positions/8184174?gh_jid=8184174",
    "descriptionText": "Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests...",
    "descriptionHtml": "<div class=\"content-intro\"><p>Airbnb was born in 2007...</p></div>",
    "ats": "greenhouse",
    "boardToken": "airbnb",
    "jobId": "8184174",
    "sourceUrl": "https://boards-api.greenhouse.io/v1/boards/airbnb/jobs?content=true&pay_transparency=true",
    "fetchedAt": "2026-10-15T05:18:17.391Z"
}
```

Field notes:

- `isRemote` is `true` when the ATS marks the job remote or a location says "remote". `workplaceType` is `remote`, `hybrid`, `onsite` or `null`.
- `employmentType` is normalized to `full-time`, `part-time`, `contract`, `internship` or `temporary` when the ATS gives one.
- `salary` comes from the ATS pay fields (`source: "ats"`). If the ATS has none, the Actor reads the first currency range in the description (`source: "description"`). Otherwise it is `null`.
- `postedAt` is the first-publish or release date (Greenhouse, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Recruitee) or the creation date (Lever, Personio), in ISO 8601 UTC.
- `company` is the company name when the ATS publishes one (Greenhouse, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Recruitee, Personio subcompany). Lever and Ashby do not, so it is the board token.
- `jobId` is the ATS job ID (the shortcode for Workable). Monitor mode uses it to find new jobs.

### Pricing

Pay per event. You pay only for the jobs you get.

| Event       | Price                             |
| ----------- | --------------------------------- |
| Job result  | **$0.003 per job** ($3 per 1,000) |
| Actor start | $0.00005 per run (Apify default) |

Examples: one company with 150 open jobs costs about $0.45. A daily alert on 50 companies in **Monitor mode** costs only the new jobs, usually a few cents a day. Set **Max cost per run** in the run options and the Actor stops at that amount.

**Free Apify plan:** runs return up to 100 jobs each. On a paid Apify plan there is no cap other than your own **Max cost per run** and **Max jobs per company**.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?** The Actor reads only the public job APIs and feeds that each ATS publishes for careers pages (see the links in **Supported ATSs**). Greenhouse documents that job-board data is public and needs no authentication. Lever documents that published postings are publicly viewable. Ashby's posting API is made for public careers pages. SmartRecruiters' Posting API serves public postings without a key, for customer careers sites. Workable lists its public account endpoints for job information. Recruitee's Careers Site API returns a company's published jobs. Personio's XML feed is the open-positions feed of the company's careers site. No login, no personal data, no scraping of HTML.

**How do I find a company's board token?** Open the company's careers page and click a job. If the URL is on `greenhouse.io`, `lever.co`, `ashbyhq.com`, `smartrecruiters.com`, `workable.com`, `recruitee.com` or `jobs.personio.com`, paste that URL. If the careers page is on the company's own domain, try the domain or the company name as a token.

**A company returned no board. Why?** It may use another ATS (for example Workday, which has no public job API), or its token is different from its name. A Personio company must turn on its XML feed. A Workable link like `apply.workable.com/j/CODE` has no account name in it: open the company's job list and paste that URL. Find a job link on its careers page and paste that URL. The run log and status message list every company that did not load.

**Do I get every job, or only the first page?** Every published job. SmartRecruiters returns 100 jobs per page, and the Actor reads every page. The other ATSs return the full board in one response.

**How fresh is the data?** Live. Each run reads the ATS at that moment.

**Can I get only new jobs every day?** Yes. See **Monitor mode** above. Saved tasks and schedules that use the old `onlyNewSinceLastRun` setting keep working.

**Can I use it from code or an AI agent?** Yes. Call it with the Apify API, the JavaScript or Python client, or the Apify MCP server. The output is flat JSON that an LLM can read directly. To give an AI agent this one tool, connect it to the Apify MCP server at `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=brasspage/careers-site-jobs-api`.

**Which ATSs are next?** Tell us in the Issues tab. We add an ATS only when it has an official public job-board API.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

One company per line; the ATS is detected automatically. Accepts a board or job URL (https://boards.greenhouse.io/airbnb, https://jobs.lever.co/spotify, https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp, https://apply.workable.com/huggingface), an explicit ats:token (greenhouse:airbnb, smartrecruiters:Equinox, recruitee:bunq, personio:westwing), a bare token (airbnb) or a company domain (airbnb.com). Supported: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Recruitee, Personio.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep a job if its title, department or team contains any of these words. Case-insensitive substring match, for example "engineer" or "product manager". Leave empty to keep all jobs.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep a job if any of its locations contains any of these values, for example "London", "United States" or "NY". The value "remote" also matches every job flagged as remote. Leave empty for all locations.

## `departments` (type: `array`):

Keep a job if its department or team contains any of these values, for example "Engineering" or "Sales". Leave empty for all departments.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs that the ATS marks as remote, or whose location says remote.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Keep only jobs first published in the last N days. Leave empty for all open jobs. Lever reports the creation date; Greenhouse and Ashby report the first-publish date.

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs per company (after filters). Prefilled at 20 so your first run is cheap. Clear it to get every open job.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Add descriptionText (plain text) and descriptionHtml to every job. Turn off for smaller, faster exports.

## `monitor` (type: `boolean`):

Turn on for scheduled job alerts. The Actor remembers the job IDs it returned for each board (in the named key-value store "careers-jobs-seen" in your account; each saved task keeps its own list) and returns only jobs you have not seen. The first run returns every current job. You pay only for new jobs.

## `onlyNewSinceLastRun` (type: `boolean`):

Same as monitor. Kept so that saved tasks and schedules from version 1.0 keep working.
