## Changelog

### 0.1, 2026-10-31

- Pages scanned sideways or upside down are turned upright before OCR (the same engine change as PDF to Markdown OCR). On 102 test pages, each turned 90, 180 and 270 degrees, all 306 now give the same text as the upright page. Upright pages give the same output as before. The check adds about 0.13 seconds a scanned page on our Mac.
- Scanned pages are faster, with the same output (the same engine change as PDF to Markdown OCR). On Apify at 1 GB, 3 made-up scans took 19.3 seconds, was 62.0 (one run each).

### 0.1, 2026-10-30

- Scanned forms read better (the same engine change as PDF to Markdown OCR). Lines that run across the whole form are no longer read as part of a ruled table below them. On 8 made-up dense form pages, scans now give 407 of 438 pieces of text, was 359.
- First version. Plain text from digital and scanned PDFs and images, on the same local engine as PDF to Markdown OCR: the text layer for digital pages, Tesseract 5 for scans. Nothing is sent to an outside service.
- Price: $0.002 per PDF or image that gives text, plus $0.005 per OCR page that gives text. Text layer pages, blank pages and failures are free.
- Build 0.1.3: README heading matches the new Store title. No code change.
