## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Brazil Public Tenders (English)

Find **open Brazilian government tenders** before your competitors, in English-friendly, structured data.

This Actor reads the official national procurement portal of Brazil (**PNCP – Portal Nacional de Contratações Públicas**), the legal source where federal, state and municipal agencies must publish their tenders. It filters them by keyword, state, category and value, and returns only tenders that are **still open for bids**.

### Who is it for?

- **Foreign manufacturers and exporters** who want to sell to Brazilian public buyers (hospitals, cities, states, federal agencies).
- **Distributors and local representatives** looking for new bids every day.
- **Market analysts and consultancies** sizing government demand in Brazil.

### What you get for each tender

| Field | Example |
| --- | --- |
| `buyer` | SECRETARIA DE INFRAESTRUTURA E MEIO AMBIENTE |
| `city`, `state` | São Paulo, SP |
| `objectPt` | Original description in Portuguese |
| `categories` | English categories, e.g. *Healthcare & pharma*, *IT, software & telecom* |
| `estimatedValueBRL` | 42108.64 (empty when the agency keeps it confidential) |
| `bidDeadline`, `daysToDeadline` | 2026-10-13T09:00:00, 10 |
| `procurementMethodEn` | Electronic reverse auction (pregão eletrônico) |
| `isFrameworkAgreement` | true for price-registration (SRP) tenders |
| `url` | Direct link to the tender on the official portal |

### How to use

1. Add **keywords** in Portuguese or product names (e.g. `notebook`, `ambulância`, `seringa`, `fertilizante`). Matching ignores accents.
2. Optionally pick **states** (e.g. `SP`, `MG`) and a **minimum value**.
3. Choose how many days back to search (default: last 3 days).
4. Run it, or schedule it daily to get a fresh list every morning.

**Tip:** Brazilian tenders are written in Portuguese. Use Portuguese keywords for best results (e.g. `computador` instead of `computer`).

### Optional English translation

Add your own Anthropic API key in the input to translate every description into plain English (`objectEn`).

### Data source and compliance

- Official open data from the Brazilian government (PNCP public API). No login, no scraping of protected content.
- Only data about public agencies is returned.
- The Actor respects the portal's rate limits, so large searches can take a few minutes.

### Limitations

- Coverage depends on what agencies publish on PNCP.
- This Actor finds and organizes tenders. It does not submit bids and is not legal advice.
