## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## EU Company Registry Monitor

Search and **monitor official European company registries** through North Data's index — German Handelsregister, French Siren, Belgian KBO, Danish CVR, Polish KRS, Bulgarian UIC and more. Extract officers with titles, LEI codes, registry identifiers, insolvency/liquidation status, and the full **categorized filing-event timeline**. Then schedule `watch` runs to get alerts the moment a company files a director change, capital change, name change, or goes insolvent.

Built for **KYC/AML compliance, supplier due diligence, competitive intelligence, and sales-intel teams** — the same registry-event alerting that dedicated vendors charge per-company monthly fees for.

### Modes

#### `search` — company registry index search

Give a company name → get matching entities across all covered registries with registry type/ID, city, country, and canonical profile URL.

```json
{ "mode": "search", "query": "siemens", "country": "de", "maxResults": 50 }
```

#### `lookup` — full company profiles

Paste North Data company URLs → complete profiles: officers with job titles, LEI, founding date, registry court/ID, status (active / insolvent / liquidation / terminated), latest filing, event timeline, shareholding network size, financial KPIs where public.

```json
{
  "mode": "lookup",
  "companyUrls": [
    "https://www.northdata.com/Siemens%20AG,%20M%C3%BCnchen/HRB%206684"
  ]
}
```

#### `watch` — registry-event alerts ⭐

Poll a list of companies on a schedule. Emits `registry_event` rows for filings **newer than your last known date** — director changes, capital changes, address changes, liquidations, insolvencies. Pass `knownLastEvents` to dedupe; on first run it emits each company's newest event as a baseline so you can verify wiring.

```json
{
  "mode": "watch",
  "companyUrls": [
    "https://www.northdata.com/GALERIA%20Karstadt%20Kaufhof%20GmbH,%20Essen/HRB%2018928"
  ],
  "knownLastEvents": {}
}
```

Schedule it hourly/daily on Apify → webhook the `registry_event` rows to Slack/your compliance pipeline.

### Output fields

| Row type | Highlights |
|---|---|
| `company_result` | name, city, country, registryType/Id/Court, canonical URL, relevance score, geo |
| `company_profile` | officers\[] (name, jobTitle, profileUrl), status, LEI, foundingDate, address, registry, eventCount, latestEventDate, events\[] (date, category, description, sourceRegistry), shareholdingCount, financial KPIs |
| `registry_event` | companyName, companyUrl, date, category, description, sourceRegistry + sourceUrl |
| `company_heartbeat` | emitted for watched companies with no new events — confirms coverage |
| `error` | url + error for per-item failures |

### Notes

- **No login, no API key** — works from Apify datacenter IPs; proxy optional.
- Event categories: `status_event` (registration/continuation/liquidation/termination), `identity_change` (name/legal-form/register), `capital_change`, `address_change`, `officer_change` — descriptions are verbatim from the registry source.
- Officer lists reflect the current registry state — the `events[]` timeline holds the history.
- Coverage follows North Data's index: strongest for Germany, plus France, Belgium, Denmark, Poland, Bulgaria, Lithuania and others.
