## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Roblox Scraper — Games, Users, Groups & Catalog

Extract public data from **Roblox** — the platform with ~380 million monthly users — via Roblox's own public APIs. **No login, no cookies, no API key required.**

### What you can scrape

| Mode | Input | Output |
|---|---|---|
| `search` | keyword | Games matching the query — live player counts, visits, votes, creators, age ratings, sponsored flags |
| `charts` | — | Top Trending and other chart categories with live player counts |
| `game` | game URLs or IDs | Full detail: concurrent players, total visits, favorites, genre, creator, age rating |
| `user` | usernames, IDs, or profile URLs | Profile: display name, bio, join date, verified badge, ban status |
| `group` | group URLs or IDs | Group detail (member count, owner, verified) + optional full member roster with roles |
| `catalog` | keyword + category | Items: price, **resale price for Limiteds**, favorites, creator, quantity available |

### Example inputs

```json
{ "mode": "search", "query": "tycoon", "maxResults": 100 }
{ "mode": "charts", "maxResults": 100 }
{ "mode": "game", "targets": ["https://www.roblox.com/games/920587237/Adopt-Me"] }
{ "mode": "user", "targets": ["builderman", "156"] }
{ "mode": "group", "targets": ["1200769"], "maxMembers": 500 }
{ "mode": "catalog", "query": "fedora", "category": "Accessories", "maxResults": 100 }
```

### Use cases

- **Competitor/game analytics** — schedule daily runs to track concurrent players, visits and favorites for any set of games
- **Brand & marketing research** — measure reach and engagement of branded experiences
- **Creator intelligence** — find top creators and their games via search + user profiles
- **Catalog & Limiteds monitoring** — track item prices, resale floors and availability (works anonymously)
- **Community analysis** — group member counts and full rosters with role ranks

### Output fields (game items)

`universeId`, `rootPlaceId`, `name`, `description`, `url`, `creatorName`, `creatorType`, `playing` (live concurrent), `visits`, `favoritedCount`, `upVotes`, `downVotes`, `maxPlayers`, `genre`, `ageRating`, `isSponsored`, `minimumAge`, `created`, `updated`

### Notes

- Pagination is automatic — `maxResults` up to 10,000 works on search, charts and catalog.
- Group member lists paginate through the full roster when `maxMembers` > 0.
- Rate limits: Roblox's public APIs allow ~50 game-detail IDs per call; the actor batches automatically. Very large `maxResults` may take a few minutes.
- Roblox session-authenticated endpoints (e.g. reseller transaction history) are not included — everything here is fully anonymous.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$1.00 / 1,000 items** (lower tiers down to $0.40 / 1,000 on higher Apify plans). No proxies required — runs are cheap.

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

What to extract. All modes use Roblox's public APIs — no login or token required.

## `query` (type: `string`):

Keyword for search mode (e.g. 'tycoon', 'obby') or catalog mode (e.g. 'fedora'). Leave empty in catalog mode to browse a category.

## `targets` (type: `array`):

For game mode: game URLs or IDs. For user mode: usernames, user IDs, or profile URLs. For group mode: group URLs or IDs.

## `category` (type: `string`):

Catalog mode only: All, Accessories, Clothing, Collectibles, Avatar Animations, Community Creations, Featured, Premium.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum items to return (search/charts/catalog). Paginates automatically.

## `maxMembers` (type: `integer`):

Group mode only: also fetch up to this many members with roles (0 = group info only).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional Apify proxy settings. Roblox's public APIs do not normally require proxies.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "mode": "search",
  "query": "adopt me",
  "category": "All",
  "maxResults": 50,
  "maxMembers": 0
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Dataset containing the scraped Roblox items

});

// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "query": "adopt me"
};

// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("brick_joey_yto/roblox-scraper").call(input);

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
