## App Store Apps API

Pulls app metadata, search results, top charts and developer catalogues from Apple's own
**iTunes Search/Lookup API** and **App Store marketing-tools feeds** — no scraping, no login,
official documented endpoints.

### Why this exists

Most App Store actors on the store only cover reviews, and full-scope metadata actors charge
$3.45 per 1,000 app details — 7x what this actor charges for data that costs one API call per
up to 200 apps. Search, charts, and "all apps by a developer" are underserved: most competitors
require you to already know the app you want.

### Modes

- **search** — free-text query, e.g. `"budget planner"`
- **lookup** — specific apps by trackId, bundleId, or App Store URL
- **developer** — every app published by a developer (artistId or developer URL)
- **charts** — Top Free / Top Paid / Top Grossing, optionally scoped to one genre (e.g. Finance)

### Data source and legality

All data comes from Apple's own documented public web services:
[iTunes Search/Lookup API](https://performance-partners.apple.com/search-api) and the
App Store marketing-tools charts feed. `apps.apple.com` itself disallows automated access in
its `robots.txt` — this actor never touches it, only `itunes.apple.com` and
`rss.marketingtools.apple.com`. Artwork/screenshot URLs are returned as links to Apple's own
CDN, never re-hosted, per Apple's promotional-asset guidelines. Developer/seller names are
business data; no reviewer or end-user personal data is collected.
