## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google News Scraper

The articles Google News shows for your keywords, with the title, publisher, date, snippet and link of each. Use it to
monitor news about a company, a market or a topic, track press coverage, feed a finance or PR dashboard, or give AI
agents fresh news.

### Input

- **Keywords:** up to 100, for example `electric vehicles`.
- **Articles per keyword:** 10 to 50 (30 by default).
- **Country:** one of 16 Google News editions.
- **Published within:** any time (the default), or the past hour, day, week, month or year. For a daily monitor,
schedule the actor with the past day.

### Output

One row per article: `keyword`, `country`, `period`, `position`, `title`, `domain` (the publisher's site), `published`, `age`,
`snippet`, `url`, `google_redirect`.

Google gives some articles only as its own redirect link. That link opens the article, but it hides the publisher, so
those rows have `google_redirect: true` and no `domain`.

### Pricing

$0.001 for each article, so 50 articles cost $0.05. There is no start fee. An article already returned for an earlier
keyword in the same run is left out and not charged, and a keyword with no articles gets one free row saying so.

### Data

From the DataForSEO SERP API (Google News). Results are what Google News shows at the time of the run. The articles
belong to their publishers. A long number in a text field that could be a payment card number is shown as
\[number hidden].

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

What you would search in Google News, up to 100, for example electric vehicles.

## `maxArticles` (type: `integer`):

10 to 50.

## `country` (type: `string`):

The Google News edition to search.

## `period` (type: `string`):

Only articles from this period, for example the past day for a daily monitor. Any means no time filter.
