## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Maps Ratings Scraper: Google, Yelp, Tripadvisor

Give Google Maps places and get what customers post about each one. Beside Google's own posts, you also get the posts from other sites that Google shows for the place, such as Yelp, Tripadvisor and Trustpilot, each marked with its source. Use it to track your own locations, compare competitors, find complaints to fix, or feed customer feedback to an AI agent. The data comes from the DataForSEO Business Data API.

### Input

- Places: up to 20. Each can be a Google Maps link, a cid, a place id (`ChIJ...`), or a business name with its city, for example `Hedonism Wines London`. A link or id finds the exact place; a name finds the best match.
- Posts per place: 20 to 1000. The default is 20.
- Search location and language: where Google searches from. Use the place's own country or city, for example `London,England,United Kingdom`.

### Output

One row per post:

| Field | What it holds |
|---|---|
| place, place_name, cid, place_id | What you gave, and the place as Google names it, with its ids |
| place_rating, place_rating_count | The place's overall Google score and how many ratings it has |
| position, source, source_domain | The post's place in the list, and the site it comes from (Google, Yelp, Tripadvisor and others) |
| stars, stars_max | The star rating and the scale it uses |
| text, original_text | What the customer wrote, and the original when Google translated it |
| date, time_ago | When it was posted |
| owner_reply, owner_reply_date | The owner's reply, when there is one |
| url | The post itself, when the source gives a link |

A place with nothing found gets one `no_results` row, which is not charged. A place that cannot be read gets one `invalid_input` or `provider_error` row, also not charged. Short `maps.app.goo.gl` links are not read: open them and copy the full link.

### Price

One `post` event for each post row, at the price shown on this page, whether you give a link, an id or a name. There is no start fee. The run asks for no more posts than its spending limit can pay for.

### Limits

- Google answers in batches of 20, so a run may take a minute or more for each place.
- Posts are as Google shows them at the time of the run.
- Author names are left out.
