## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Roblox Rising Games Tracker: CCU Growth & Breakouts

Find Roblox games that are taking off before everyone else does. Schedule this Actor hourly or daily and every run tells you how each game's concurrent players (CCU) changed over the last **1 hour, 24 hours and 7 days**, with a **momentum score** and a **breakout flag**. The history is kept for you between runs, so you never have to build your own time series.

### What does it do?

Roblox's public APIs only show what is happening right now. Most Roblox scrapers stop there, so tracking growth means storing snapshots and comparing them yourself. This Actor does that work:

- **Tracks the games you choose**: your own game and your competitors, by Roblox game URL or ID.
- **Watches Roblox's discovery charts**: games on Up-and-Coming, Top Trending or Top Playing Now are added to your tracker each run. Paid (sponsored) chart slots are skipped by default.
- **Keeps history for you**: each run saves a snapshot to a key-value store in your own Apify account, named after your tracker. Later runs compare against it.
- **Ranks by momentum**: results are sorted so the fastest risers come first, not just the biggest games.

Who it is for: Roblox developers checking their game against competitors, studios and UGC creators hunting for trends early, brands and agencies looking for games to partner with, and AI agents that need a live "what's rising on Roblox" feed.

**How to use it**

1. Pick the charts to watch and add any games you want tracked.
2. Give the tracker a name (for example `my-competitors`). Keep the same name every run.
3. Run it once, then set a schedule (hourly or daily) in Apify Console. The first run records a baseline; change columns fill in from the next run, and 7-day figures after a week.

### Input

| Field | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| `charts` | Roblox charts to pull games from: `up-and-coming`, `top-trending`, `top-playing-now` | Up-and-Coming and Top Trending |
| `games` | Games to track: `https://www.roblox.com/games/920587237/Adopt-Me`, a place ID like `920587237`, or a universe ID written as `u:383310974` | empty |
| `trackerName` | Name of the history store in your account. One name per watchlist | `default` |
| `minPlayers` | Only return games with at least this many players now (all games are still recorded) | 0 |
| `onlyBreakouts` | Only return games flagged as breakouts versus 24 hours ago | off |
| `includeSponsored` | Include paid chart placements | off |
| `maxResults` | Maximum games tracked and returned per run | 100 |

Example:

```json
{
  "charts": ["up-and-coming", "top-trending"],
  "games": ["https://www.roblox.com/games/920587237/Adopt-Me"],
  "trackerName": "my-competitors",
  "maxResults": 100
}
```

### Output

One row per game, sorted by momentum. Example (values illustrative):

```json
{
  "universeId": 383310974,
  "placeId": 920587237,
  "name": "Adopt Me!",
  "updatedAt": "2026-10-10T17:00:05.187Z",
  "ccuChange1h": 4210,
  "ccuChange1hPct": 1.8,
  "ccuChange24h": 18320,
  "ccuChange24hPct": 8.1,
  "foundIn": "input",
  "chartRank": null,
  "snapshotAt": "2026-10-21T18:00:00.000Z"
}
```

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `playing` | Players in the game right now |
| `ccuChange1h`, `ccuChange24h`, `ccuChange7d` (and `...Pct`) | Change in players versus the stored snapshot closest to that time ago. `null` until that much history exists |
| `visitsGained24h`, `favoritesGained24h` | New visits and favorites in the last day |
| `momentumScore` | Growth weighted by size: positive means rising, negative means falling. Uses the 24h comparison, or 1h until a day of history exists |
| `breakout` | `true` when players jumped enough versus 24 hours ago: about 3x for games under 1,000 players, 2x under 10,000, 1.3x above that, with at least 200 players now. A rule of thumb, not Roblox's own trending formula |
| `historyStatus` | `baseline` (first sighting), `partial` (some history), `full` (24h and 7d history) |
| `foundIn` | `input` for games you listed, otherwise the chart it came from; `chartRank` is its position there |

Creator names are included for groups and studios only. Individual creators' usernames are left out on purpose.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$1.00 per 1,000 games returned** ($0.001 each), plus Apify's small per-run start fee. A watchlist of 50 games checked hourly costs about $1.20 a day; checked daily, about $1.50 a month. Games filtered out by `minPlayers` or `onlyBreakouts` are not charged. Set a maximum cost per run in Apify Console and the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached.

### Use with AI agents (MCP)

Connect the Apify MCP server with this Actor preloaded: `https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=brightpath-data/roblox-rising-games`

Ask your agent things like "Which Roblox games on Up-and-Coming grew the most since yesterday?" Use the same `trackerName` on every call so the agent sees growth, not just a snapshot.

### Limits

- The first run of a tracker has nothing to compare against, so change columns are empty until the next run. 7-day figures need a week of runs.
- History keeps every snapshot from the last 26 hours, then one every 6 hours, for 8 days.
- Up to 1,000 games per run. Roblox charts return a few dozen games each.
- Roblox player counts move with time of day and school schedules. Compare like with like (daily runs at a fixed hour work well).
- Charts are read with "all countries" and desktop settings, so they may differ slightly from what a given player sees.
- Only public data. No logins, private servers or developer analytics.

### Is it legal?

This Actor reads the same public Roblox endpoints that the Roblox website uses to show game pages and charts, with no login and polite request pacing. It collects game-level statistics only and leaves out individual creators' usernames. You are responsible for using the data in line with [Roblox's Terms of Use](https://en.help.roblox.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004647846) and the laws that apply to you. This Actor is not affiliated with or endorsed by Roblox Corporation.
