## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## YouTube Video Details Scraper

Get the details of any YouTube video from its link or ID, as JSON, CSV or Excel: title, full description, views, likes, comment count, publish date, tags, hashtags, duration, caption languages and the channel with its subscribers.

### What you get for each video

- Title, video ID and link
- Full description, hashtags and tags (keywords)
- Views, likes and comment count
- Publish date as a date (`2009-10-24`) and as shown on YouTube
- Length in seconds, and whether it is a live stream
- Whether captions exist and in which languages
- Channel name, ID, link, verified badge and subscriber count
- Thumbnail link

### How to use it

1. Paste video links or IDs into **Videos**, one per line. Watch, youtu.be, Shorts, embed and live links work.
2. Press **Start**, then download the results or read them through the API.

Combine it with the YouTube Search Scraper or YouTube Channel Videos Scraper: list videos there, get their full details here.

### Input

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Videos | Links or 11-character IDs |
| Maximum videos | Stops the run after this many videos |

### Output example

```json
{
  "videoId": "dQw4w9WgXcQ",
  "title": "Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up (Official Video) (4K Remaster)",
  "viewCount": 1818022884,
  "likeCount": 19383721,
  "commentCount": 2400000,
  "publishedDate": "2009-10-24",
  "lengthSeconds": 213,
  "tags": ["rick astley", "never gonna give you up"],
  "hashtags": ["#RickAstley"],
  "captionLanguages": ["en", "de-DE", "ja"],
  "channelName": "Rick Astley",
  "subscriberCount": 4540000
}
```

### Pricing

You pay per video read, plus a tiny start fee. Private, removed and unavailable videos return nothing and cost nothing. Set a maximum spend per run and the Actor stops when it is reached.

### Notes

- Subscriber and comment counts are rounded by YouTube (for example 2.4M). Likes and views are exact.
- Videos that could not be read are listed in the `FAILED_VIDEOS` record of the run's key-value store.
- The Actor reads publicly visible data. Use it in line with YouTube's terms.
