$5.00 / 1,000 websites

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Technology Stack Detector (CMS, analytics, chat, payments, hosting)

Find out what any website is built with: CMS and e-commerce platform (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix...), JS framework, analytics and ad pixels, chat widget, payment providers, email marketing tool, CDN/hosting, server and the company's email provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365...). 200+ signatures, read from the public homepage, headers and DNS. Bulk: thousands of domains per run. For sales prospecting, competitor research and lead qualification.

### What you can use it for

- Sales prospecting: every Shopify store using Klaviyo but no chat widget; WordPress sites without a CDN
- Competitor and market research: which platforms, analytics and payment providers a list of companies uses
- Lead qualification: enrich a CRM list with CMS, e-commerce platform, email provider and hosting
- Agencies: audit a client list for outdated or missing tooling

### Why this one

- 200+ signatures across CMS, e-commerce, frameworks, analytics/pixels, chat, payments, email marketing, widgets, CDN/hosting, server and the company's email provider (from DNS MX)
- Reads only the public homepage, its headers and DNS: fast, polite, honors robots.txt
- Each category is its own column, plus a combined technologies list and the external script hosts for your own rules
- Pay only for results: **$5 per 1,000 websites**. No subscription.

### Input

- **Websites** (`websites`): Domains or URLs, one per line.
- **Max sites** (`maxResults`) Default: `10000`.

### Output

One row per website in the dataset (JSON, CSV, Excel, or through the API). Sample:

### Tips

- Detection is from the homepage HTML as served; single-page apps that render everything in JavaScript may show fewer technologies.
- emailProvider comes from MX records: Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho, Proofpoint, Mimecast and others; 'Self-hosted/other' when none matched.

### Integrations and API

Run it on a schedule, trigger it from the API or a webhook, and send results to Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, Slack, a database or your own code with the platform's standard integrations.

### Data and fair use

This tool reads only public sources (official APIs, public feeds or pages the publisher makes available to everyone) and respects robots.txt and rate limits. You are responsible for using the data in line with the source's terms and applicable law.
