## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store & Google Play Scraper - Ratings, Updates, Stale Apps

Get **iOS and Android app data in one table** from a single run: rating, number of ratings, current version, last update date, **days since the last update**, installs (Google Play), category, price, developer website and plain-language health signals.

Search both stores by keyword, or paste App Store / Google Play links. No login, no API key.

### Why use it

- **One run, both stores.** Most scrapers cover one store. This one returns iOS and Android rows with the same fields, so you can compare them directly.
- **Find outdated apps.** `daysSinceUpdate` and `onlyNotUpdatedForDays` let you list apps that have not shipped an update in 6, 12 or 24 months. Useful for app studios looking for redesign or maintenance work, for investors and acquirers, and for market research.
- **Health signals per app**, for example *"Not updated in over a year"*, *"Rating below 3.5"*, *"Fewer than 50 ratings"*, *"No developer website listed"*.
- **No personal data.** Reviews and reviewer names are not collected. A developer support email is returned only when it is a role address (support@, help@, info@ ...); personal-looking addresses are withheld and flagged with `supportEmailWithheld`.

### Input

```json
{
  "searchTerms": ["habit tracker", "budget planner"],
  "apps": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/shopify-sell-run-a-business/id371294472", "com.shopify.mobile"],
  "stores": ["appStore", "googlePlay"],
  "maxResultsPerSearch": 30,
  "country": "us",
  "onlyNotUpdatedForDays": 365
}
```

- **searchTerms**: keywords to search in the selected stores. The App Store returns up to 200 apps per keyword, Google Play about 30.
- **apps**: App Store URLs or numeric IDs, Google Play URLs or package names. Mixed lists are fine.
- **country**: two-letter store country (`us`, `gb`, `de`, `tr` ...).
- **onlyNotUpdatedForDays** (optional): return only apps without an update for at least this many days. Filtered-out apps are not charged.

### Output (one row per app)

```json
{
  "store": "Google Play",
  "appId": "com.shopify.mobile",
  "name": "Shopify: Sell. Run a business.",
  "developer": "Shopify Inc.",
  "developerWebsite": "http://www.shopify.com/mobile",
  "supportEmail": "support@shopify.com",
  "category": "Business",
  "rating": 4.23,
  "ratingCount": 73796,
  "installs": "10M+",
  "free": true,
  "version": "10.2640.0",
  "lastUpdated": "2026-10-13",
  "daysSinceUpdate": 2,
  "contentRating": "Everyone",
  "signals": [],
  "url": "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shopify.mobile",
  "status": "ok"
}
```

App Store rows also include `released` (first release date), `minOsVersion` and `sizeMB`. Google Play rows include `installs`. A field the store does not show is `null`.

In our test run (8 keywords, both stores, US) all 374 apps were read successfully.

### Pricing

**$2.50 per 1,000 apps returned** (pay per event `app-result`). Apps that could not be read, and apps removed by your filter, are free.

### Good to know

- Data comes from Apple's public iTunes Search/Lookup API and the public Google Play app page.
- Google Play keyword search returns about 30 apps per keyword; add more keywords for wider coverage.
- Keep `language` as `en` so Google Play dates can be read.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Find apps by keyword in both stores, e.g. 'habit tracker'.

## `apps` (type: `array`):

App Store URLs or numeric IDs (371294472), Google Play URLs or package names (com.shopify.mobile).

## `stores` (type: `array`):

Used for keyword searches. App URLs are always read.

## `maxResultsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

App Store returns up to 200, Google Play about 30 per keyword.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter store country code (us, gb, de, tr ...).

## `language` (type: `string`):

Language for Google Play pages; the 'Updated on' date is read in English, so keep 'en' unless you need another.

## `onlyNotUpdatedForDays` (type: `integer`):

E.g. 365 returns only apps without an update in a year. Apps filtered out are not charged.
