## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Company Hiring Signals: Marketing & Ecommerce Jobs by Domain

Paste a list of brand or company websites and see **who is hiring, and for what**. The actor finds each company's public job board and returns its open roles, with **marketing and ecommerce hires flagged**: growth, paid ads, email/CRM, SEO and content, social, ecommerce/Shopify, brand and creative.

A company hiring a "Director of Growth Marketing" or a "Paid Social Manager" has a budget and a gap right now. That is the best time to offer an agency, a tool or a freelancer.

**Try it on 3 companies for $0.03** with the pre-filled input. Companies without a public job board are listed free of charge.

### Job boards it reads

Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters, Recruitee, BambooHR and Breezy, through each platform's official public job-board API.

The actor finds the board from links on the homepage or careers page. If there is no link, it tries the company name on Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby and keeps the result only when the board itself mentions the company's domain. Same-name boards that don't mention your domain are listed free as `board_unconfirmed`, never charged. The `matchedBy` field tells you which way a board was found.

### Who uses it

- **Marketing agencies and freelancers**: find brands hiring for the exact service you sell (paid ads, email, SEO, Shopify) and reach out while the need is open.
- **SaaS sales teams**: a new "Head of Ecommerce" or "CRM Manager" is a buying trigger for ecommerce and marketing tools.
- **Recruiters**: track which DTC brands are building out marketing teams.
- **Investors and analysts**: watch hiring momentum across a list of companies every week.

### How to run it

1. Paste company domains (three are pre-filled, so you can just press Start).
2. Optional: turn on `onlyMarketingHiring` to keep only companies with an open marketing or ecommerce role.
3. Press **Start** and download Excel, CSV or JSON, or call it from the API.

### What you get for each company

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `companyName`, `url` | Bombas · bombas.com |
| `atsPlatform`, `jobBoardUrl` | Greenhouse · job-boards.greenhouse.io/bombas |
| `openJobs` | 7 |
| `marketingEcommerceJobs` | 1 |
| `hiringAreas` | Email / CRM / retention |
| `marketingJobTitles` | Senior Digital Product Manager, Retention & Post-Purchase |
| `departments` | Product Design: 1 · Customer Insights: 1 · Sourcing: 1 · … |
| `newestPostingDate` | 2026-10-28 |
| `jobs` | every open role: title, department, location, link, posting date, marketing flag |
| `matchedBy` | link on site / board name matches domain |

Hiring areas used for tagging: Paid ads / performance, Email / CRM / retention, SEO / content, Social / influencer, E-commerce / Shopify, Brand / creative, Growth / analytics.

### Filters

- `onlyMarketingHiring`: only companies with at least one marketing or ecommerce role (the job list then shows only those roles)
- `minOpenJobs`: skip small or inactive boards
- `includeJobList`: turn off for a compact one-row-per-company table

Companies skipped by a filter are not charged.

### Pricing

$8.00 per 1,000 companies with a job board found ($0.008 each). Companies without a public board, and sites that don't load, are free.

| Companies with a board | Cost |
|---|---|
| 100 | $0.80 |
| 1,000 | $8.00 |

### Good to know

- Only job boards on the platforms above are read. Companies that post jobs only on LinkedIn, their own custom page or another ATS (Workday, iCIMS, Taleo and others) show up as "no_job_board_found".
- Job postings are company data; no personal data is collected. Recruiter names inside job descriptions are not extracted.
- Posting dates come from the job board. Some platforms report the last update instead of the first publication.
- Marketing tagging is keyword-based on the job title and department. Check the titles before you act on them.

### FAQ

**Can I run it every week?**
Yes. Use Apify Schedules and compare runs to see new roles as they appear.

**Can I search by job title instead of domain?**
No. This actor starts from your list of companies. Combine it with a store or company list actor to build that list.

**Something wrong or missing?**
Open an issue on the Issues tab with the domain.
