## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Shopify Store Auditor — New Stores, Marketing Gaps & Contacts

Find **newly launched Shopify stores** (or audit your own list) and get, for every store:

- Store name, country, city, currency, product count and niche
- Theme (and whether it's a free default theme)
- **Marketing gaps**: no Meta pixel, no Google tag, no email/SMS capture tool, no reviews app, missing meta description, slow homepage, no social links
- **Business contacts the store publishes itself** (contact emails such as info@ / support@, contact page) and brand social profiles linked from the store

Built for agencies and freelancers who sell email marketing, paid ads, reviews/UGC, SEO, CRO or design to Shopify merchants — and for app developers looking for stores that need their app.

### Modes

| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| **discover** | Scans domains registered in the last 1–14 days, keeps the ones running on Shopify, audits them |
| **urls** | Audits the store domains you provide |

### Filters

- `countries` — e.g. `["US"]`
- `niche` — Apparel, Beauty, Jewelry, Home, Pets, Food, Health, Kids, Automotive, Electronics, Tools
- `requiredGaps` — e.g. only stores with `no_email_capture_tool`
- `onlyWithContact` — skip stores with no published business contact
- `minProducts` — skip empty or placeholder stores

### Output example

```json
{
  "storeName": "Example Apparel Co",
  "url": "https://example-apparel.com",
  "country": "US",
  "city": "Austin, Texas",
  "niche": "Apparel",
  "productCount": 134,
  "theme": "Dawn",
  "gaps": ["no_meta_pixel", "no_email_capture_tool", "no_reviews_app", "default_free_theme"],
  "gapCount": 4,
  "businessEmails": ["hello@example-apparel.com"],
  "socials": {"instagram": "https://instagram.com/exampleapparel"},
  "status": "ok"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per result: $19.90 per 1,000 audited stores ($0.0199 per store). You are charged only for stores that pass your filters; in `urls` mode, stores that fail to load are listed free of charge so you can see why.

### Data & compliance

Only public store pages are read (`/meta.json`, homepage, `/products.json`, contact and policy pages).
Only contact emails that the store itself publishes on its own website are returned (no social-network scraping, no third-party data sources). Some small stores publish a free-mail address (e.g. Gmail/Yahoo) as their business contact.
Use results in line with CAN-SPAM / GDPR (identify yourself, honour opt-outs).

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
