## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Accessibility & SEO Audit (WCAG Quick Check)

Run a fast, static audit of a website and get a per-page score plus a list of concrete issues. Built for agencies, SEO consultants, public-sector suppliers and compliance teams that need a quick triage before a manual WCAG review.

### What it checks

- Missing or badly sized `<title>`
- Missing or short meta description
- Missing `lang` on `<html>`
- Missing or multiple `<h1>`, heading-level skips
- Images without `alt`
- Links without accessible text
- Form fields without an associated label
- Missing viewport meta (mobile)
- `noindex` pages
- Missing canonical
- Thin content (< 200 words)
- Missing JSON-LD structured data

### Output

One dataset item per page:

```json
{
  "url": "https://example.com/",
  "status": 200,
  "score": 65,
  "title": "Example Domain",
  "issues": [
    {"code": "missing_h1", "severity": "high", "message": "...", "count": 1, "examples": []}
  ],
  "stats": {"words": 27, "images": 0, "images_without_alt": 0, "links": 0}
}
```

Export as JSON, CSV or Excel from the Apify dataset.

### Input

```json
{
  "startUrls": [{"url": "https://example.com"}],
  "maxPages": 10,
  "sameDomainOnly": true
}
```

### Use cases

- **Web agencies**: quick pre-sales audit for a prospect.
- **SEO consultants**: catch technical issues before a content sprint.
- **Public sector suppliers**: preliminary accessibility check (European Accessibility Act).
- **Compliance teams**: monitor a list of pages over time.

### Pricing suggestion

Pay-per-event: **$0.01 per audited page** (about $10 per 1,000 pages), or a monthly rental for agencies that audit many sites.

### Limitations

- Static HTML only: no JavaScript rendering in v1.
- Not a substitute for a full WCAG 2.2 audit with manual testing.
- Respects `robots.txt` and rate-limits requests.

### Local development

```bash
pip install -r requirements.txt
python main.py https://example.com
```
