## Pricing

from $2.55 / 1,000 reviews

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

#### What is BBB Reviews Scraper?

**BBB Reviews Scraper** extracts **all reviews of any business on [BBB (Better Business Bureau)](https://www.bbb.org)**: star rating, review text, date, reviewer name and the business's reply. Paste a BBB URL, click **Start**, and download the reviews as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML.

The Better Business Bureau (bbb.org) lists millions of businesses in the US and Canada, with customer reviews that consumers check before they buy. With this scraper you can:

- ⭐ **Scrape every review** of a business, or only the newest ones
- 💬 **Get the review text and the business's reply**
- 📅 **Fetch only new reviews** since a given date, ideal for daily monitoring
- 🛡️ **Get past bot protection**: a real browser and a US residential proxy are included in the price
- 🔌 **Connect the data** to Google Sheets, Slack, Make, Zapier or your own app via the API

#### What data can I extract from BBB?

<table>
<tr><td>⭐ Star rating (1-5)</td><td>💬 Review text</td></tr>
<tr><td>👤 Reviewer name</td><td>📅 Publication date</td></tr>
<tr><td>↩️ Reply</td><td>🆔 Stable review ID</td></tr>
<tr><td>📝 Review title (if any)</td><td>🔗 Source URL</td></tr>
</table>

#### Why scrape BBB reviews?

- 🏢 **Businesses and franchises**: track your BBB reviews next to Google and Yelp
- ⚖️ **Due diligence**: check a supplier's or partner's customer reviews
- 🔍 **Lead generation and research**: analyse reviews per industry or city
- 🤖 **Sentiment analysis and AI**: feed real customer feedback into your own analysis or LLM pipeline.

#### How do I use BBB Reviews Scraper?

1. [Create a free Apify account](https://console.apify.com/sign-up).
2. Open the business on BBB and copy the URL of its business profile's customer reviews page, for example `https://www.bbb.org/us/tx/austin/profile/job-listing-service/indeed-0825-1000101793/customer-reviews`.
3. Paste it into the **BBB business URL** field.
4. Optionally set **Max reviews**, or **Only reviews after** to fetch only reviews since a given date.
5. Click **Start** and wait for the run to finish.
6. Download your data from the **Output** tab in JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML.

#### How much does scraping BBB cost?

You **pay per review** that ends up in your dataset: **$3.00 per 1,000 reviews**, plus **$0.05 per run** ($0.025 per GB of memory; the default is 2 GB) for starting the browser and proxy. No subscription, no rental fee. The monthly credits in Apify's free plan cover a couple of thousand reviews.

💡 **Tip:** for monitoring, schedule a daily run with **Only reviews after** set to the date of your last run. You only pay for new reviews.

You can set a maximum cost per run in the run options; the scraper stops when it is reached.

#### ⬇️ Input

The only required field is the business URL. See the **Input** tab for all options.

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| **BBB business URL** (`url`) | The business profile's customer reviews page on BBB |

| **Only reviews after** (`cutoff_date`) | Skip reviews published before this date |
| **Proxy** (`proxyConfiguration`) | US residential proxy, on by default and included in the price. Keep it on: BBB blocks data-center IPs |

```json
{
    "url": "https://www.bbb.org/us/tx/austin/profile/job-listing-service/indeed-0825-1000101793/customer-reviews",
    "limit": 100,
    "cutoff_date": "2026-01-01"
}
```

#### ⬆️ Output sample

Each review is one item in the dataset. View it as a table in the **Output** tab or download it in JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML.

All our review scrapers use this same format, so you can combine datasets from different sites directly. See for example our [Kiyoh Reviews Scraper](https://apify.com/carabain-digital/kiyoh-reviews).

#### 🔌 Integrations

Connect BBB Reviews Scraper to almost any cloud service or web app with [Apify integrations](https://apify.com/integrations): Make, Zapier, Slack, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Airbyte, GitHub and more. Or use [webhooks](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/webhooks) to trigger an action when a run finishes, for example to post new reviews to Slack.

#### 💻 Using BBB Reviews Scraper with the Apify API

The [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2) lets you start runs, schedule them and fetch results from your own code. Use the [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python) or [JavaScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js) client, or call the scraper from AI agents through the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com). The **API** tab has ready-to-use code.

#### ❓ FAQ

##### Can I scrape multiple businesss at once?

Run the scraper once per business. To monitor several, create a [task](https://docs.apify.com/platform/actors/running/tasks) per business and [schedule](https://docs.apify.com/platform/schedules) them, or start runs from the API.

##### Do I need a BBB account?

No. The scraper only reads publicly visible reviews.

##### Do I need proxies to scrape BBB?

Yes, but you don't have to set anything up: a US residential proxy is on by default and its cost is included in the price per review. If a request still gets blocked, the scraper retries once on a fresh IP automatically.

##### Anything special about BBB data?

BBB is protected by Cloudflare. The scraper opens the first page in a real browser to pass the check, then reads the reviews directly, which takes a bit longer and needs more memory than a plain HTTP scraper.

##### My run failed. What now?

Check the status message of the run. "Invalid input" or "not found" means the URL doesn't point to a BBB business page: open it in your browser and copy it again. "Blocked" means BBB refused the request; run it again, and keep the proxy on.

##### Is it legal to scrape BBB reviews?

This scraper only collects publicly visible reviews. Reviews can contain personal data, such as reviewer names, which is protected by the GDPR in the EU and by other regulations elsewhere. Only scrape and store personal data when you have a legitimate reason, and consult your lawyer if you are unsure. Read more in Apify's post on [the legality of web scraping](https://blog.apify.com/is-web-scraping-legal/).
