## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Company Jobs Tracker — Greenhouse & Lever + Hiring Signals

Monitor open roles at **any company that hires through Greenhouse or Lever** (thousands of startups and scale-ups, from Stripe and Airbnb to Spotify and Palantir). Get clean job data, **only the new postings since your last run**, and a **hiring-signal summary per company** — ideal for job alerts, recruiting research, market intelligence and sales prospecting.

Data comes from the companies' **official public job board APIs** (Greenhouse Job Board API and Lever Postings API). No login, no browser, no personal data: email addresses and phone numbers are removed from descriptions.

### Why use it

- **Watchlist mode**: schedule it daily with *Only new jobs* turned on and receive just the fresh postings.
- **Hiring signals**: open roles, change since last run, roles opened and closed, roles posted in the last 7 and 30 days, remote share, top departments and locations — one row per company.
- **Filters**: title keywords, exclusions, locations, departments, remote only.
- **Salaries** when the company publishes them (Lever salary ranges, or ranges written in the description).
- **Fast and cheap**: plain API calls, results in seconds.

### Input

```json
{
  "companies": ["https://boards.greenhouse.io/stripe", "lever:spotify", "airbnb"],
  "keywords": ["engineer", "data"],
  "locations": ["Remote", "London"],
  "onlyNew": true
}
```

A company can be a job board URL (`boards.greenhouse.io/…`, `job-boards.greenhouse.io/…`, `jobs.lever.co/…`), `greenhouse:slug`, `lever:slug`, or just a slug (the Actor checks Greenhouse, then Lever).

### Output

Job rows (`type: "job"`):

```json
{
  "type": "job",
  "company": "Stripe",
  "ats": "greenhouse",
  "jobId": "8172508",
  "title": "Abuse Investigator",
  "department": "Security Analytics",
  "location": "Dublin",
  "remote": false,
  "postedAt": "2026-09-03T13:32:53-04:00",
  "url": "https://stripe.com/jobs/search?gh_jid=8172508",
  "isNew": true
}
```

Company rows (`type: "company-signal"`):

```json
{
  "type": "company-signal",
  "company": "Stripe",
  "openRoles": 412,
  "changeSinceLastRun": 9,
  "newSinceLastRun": 14,
  "closedSinceLastRun": 5,
  "postedLast30Days": 61,
  "remoteShare": 0.18,
  "topDepartments": [{ "name": "Engineering", "count": 140 }]
}
```

(Example values are illustrative.) Companies that could not be found are returned as `type: "error"` rows and are not charged.

### Pricing (pay per event)

- **Job**: per job row returned
- **Company signal**: per company summary row

Filtered-out jobs and failed companies are free.

### Tips

- Find a company's slug from its careers page: links to `boards.greenhouse.io/<slug>` or `jobs.lever.co/<slug>`.
- Use a separate **State key** for each schedule so their "new jobs" tracking stays independent.

### Who uses it

- **Job seekers and job alert bots**: get a daily list of new roles at your target companies, filtered by title and location.
- **Recruiters and talent intelligence**: see which teams competitors are hiring for and how fast.
- **Sales teams (B2B prospecting)**: a company opening 20 new engineering roles is a buying signal. Use `company-signal` rows to prioritise accounts, without collecting personal data.
- **Investors and analysts**: track headcount growth as a proxy for company momentum.

### FAQ

**Which companies are supported?** Any company whose careers page is hosted on Greenhouse (`boards.greenhouse.io`, `job-boards.greenhouse.io`) or Lever (`jobs.lever.co`) — including Stripe, Airbnb, Spotify and Palantir.

**How do I get only new jobs every day?** Turn on *Only new jobs since last run* and create a schedule. The first run returns everything; later runs return only new postings.

**Does it collect personal data?** No. It returns job postings and company-level counts. Email addresses and phone numbers in descriptions are removed.

**How much does it cost?** $1 per 1,000 jobs and $5 per 1,000 company signal rows. Companies that can't be found are free.

### Notes

This Actor reads public job postings that companies publish for candidates, via the APIs those platforms document for that purpose. It follows Lever's requested crawl rate of one request per second. Please use the data in line with each company's and platform's terms.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Greenhouse or Lever job board URLs (e.g. https://boards.greenhouse.io/stripe, https://jobs.lever.co/spotify), or slugs like "greenhouse:stripe", "lever:spotify" or just "stripe" (auto-detects the ATS).

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose title contains any of these words (case-insensitive). Leave empty for all jobs.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these words.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose location contains any of these (e.g. "London", "Remote", "Germany").

## `departments` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs in departments containing any of these (e.g. "Engineering", "Sales").

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs marked as remote.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Perfect for schedules: after the first run, output only postings that were not seen before. State is kept per company list (or per State key).

## `stateKey` (type: `string`):

Name for the saved state, so different schedules don't interfere. Defaults to a hash of your company list.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Adds the plain-text description. Email addresses and phone numbers are removed.

## `emitSignals` (type: `boolean`):

Adds one summary row per company: open roles, change since last run, new/closed roles, roles posted in the last 7/30 days, remote share, top departments and locations.

## `outputJobs` (type: `boolean`):

Turn off to get only the company hiring-signal rows (one per company), without individual jobs.

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

0 = no limit.
