## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## ATS Jobs API: Greenhouse, Lever & Ashby job boards

Get every open job of a company, in one normalized format, straight from the **official public job board APIs** of
Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby. It uses public API endpoints without HTML scraping, proxies or login. Availability depends on each vendor and company board.

### What you get

One dataset item per job: `ats`, `company`, `companySlug`, `id`, `title`, `location`, `remote`, `department`,
`employmentType`, `postedAt`, `updatedAt`, `url`, `applyUrl`, `description` (plain text) and, for Ashby boards that
publish it, `compensation`.

### Input

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `companies` | Board slugs or URLs: `greenhouse:stripe`, `lever:palantir`, `ashby:ramp`, `https://jobs.lever.co/palantir`. A bare slug (`stripe`) is tried on all three systems. |
| `keywords` | Keep jobs whose title contains any of these words. |
| `locationContains` | Keep jobs whose location text contains this string. |
| `remoteOnly` | Keep only remote jobs. |
| `includeDescription` | Include the full description (default true). |
| `maxJobsPerCompany` | Cap per company (0 = unlimited). |

Example:

```json
{
  "companies": ["greenhouse:stripe", "lever:palantir", "ashby:ashby"],
  "keywords": ["engineer", "data"],
  "remoteOnly": true,
  "maxJobsPerCompany": 50
}
```

### Example output

One item from a verified cloud run (fields vary by vendor):

```json
{
  "ats": "greenhouse",
  "company": "Stripe",
  "companySlug": "stripe",
  "id": "8172508",
  "title": "Abuse Investigator",
  "location": "Dublin",
  "remote": false,
  "department": "8611 Security Analytics",
  "employmentType": null,
  "url": "https://stripe.com/jobs/search?gh_jid=8172508",
  "applyUrl": "https://stripe.com/jobs/search?gh_jid=8172508"
}
```

This example uses `includeDescription: false`. Dates and optional fields depend on the source. Export dataset results as JSON, CSV or Excel using Apify.

### Use cases

- Monitor hiring at target companies (schedule the actor, compare runs).
- Build a niche job board or newsletter.
- Feed hiring signals into sales / market research.

### Pricing (pay per event)

The `job-listing` event is $0.003 per job returned. Filtered-out jobs and missing boards do not trigger that event. Apify may also charge actor-start and dataset-item events shown in the Store pricing panel; review the current pricing there before running.

### Notes and limits

- Only public postings are read, via the endpoints the ATS vendors publish for job boards. Requests are paced (0.5 s) and retried on 429/5xx.
- A company must use one of the three systems and its board must be public. The slug is the part of the board URL after the host.
- Postings can contain recruiter names written by the employer; the actor does not look up personal data.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Board slugs or full board URLs, e.g. `greenhouse:stripe`, `lever:palantir`, `ashby:ramp`, or `https://jobs.lever.co/palantir`. A bare slug is tried on Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose title contains at least one of these words (case-insensitive). Empty = all jobs.

## `locationContains` (type: `string`):

Keep only jobs whose location text contains this string (e.g. `Berlin`, `Remote`).

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs flagged or described as remote.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Add the full job description (plain text) to each item.

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Cap on jobs returned per company after filtering. 0 = unlimited.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "companies": [
    "greenhouse:stripe",
    "lever:palantir",
    "ashby:ashby"
  ],
  "keywords": [],
  "locationContains": "",
  "remoteOnly": false,
  "includeDescription": true,
  "maxJobsPerCompany": 0
}
```

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "companies": [
        "greenhouse:stripe",
        "lever:palantir",
        "ashby:ashby"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("catblik/ats-jobs-api").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
