## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Amazon Scraper — Products, Details & Reviews

Scrape Amazon product listings, full product details, and customer reviews with **built-in residential proxies** — no proxy setup, no API key needed. Keyword search, ASIN/URL lookup, and reviews, all in **one Actor** (competitors split these into 5+ separate Actors).

### Why this Actor

- **Built-in residential proxies** — Amazon's anti-bot blocks datacenter IPs. All traffic routes through premium US residential IPs automatically. You configure nothing.
- **Three modes, one Actor** — search listings, product details, and reviews in a single run. No switching between separate scrapers.
- **Use only what you need** — you don't have to use all modes. Fill in just the inputs you need and you only pay for the data types actually scraped (see below).
- **Rich product data** — ASIN, title, price, rating, review counts, brand, feature bullets, Best Sellers Rank.
- **Review scraping** — author, rating, title, text, date per review.
  > ⚠️ **Note:** Amazon currently gates review pages behind a login wall for
  > automated traffic. Reviews may return empty when Amazon's anti-bot is
  > active — you are only charged for reviews actually scraped (`review`
  > events fire per review returned, so no data = no charge). Search and
  > product details are unaffected.

### Pick your mode

| You need | Fill in | You pay for |
|---|---|---|
| Product listings only | `Search keywords` | `listing` $0.003 each |
| Product details only | `Product URLs / ASINs` | `detail` $0.005 each |
| Reviews only | `Product URLs / ASINs` + tick `Include reviews` | `detail` $0.005 + `review` $0.001 each |
| Everything | All of the above | Each event type as scraped |

Unfilled inputs cost nothing — pay-per-event means you only pay for data you actually receive.

### Inputs

- **Search keywords** — one per line (e.g. `wireless headphones`).
- **Product URLs / ASINs** — Amazon product URLs or 10-char ASINs, one per line.
- **Include reviews** — also scrape reviews for each product URL/ASIN.
- **Max pages per search / Max results / Max reviews per product** — tune volume.
- **Request concurrency** — kept low to stay under anti-bot radar.

### Output

Listing (`itemType: "listing"`): `asin`, `title`, `priceDisplay`, `rating`, `reviewCount`, `url`, `keyword`.

Detail (`itemType: "detail"`): all listing fields plus `brand`, `features[]`, `bestSellersRank`.

Review (`itemType: "review"`): `asin`, `reviewId`, `author`, `rating`, `title`, `text`, `date`.

### Pricing

- **$0.003 per listing** (pay-per-event `listing`)
- **$0.005 per product detail** (pay-per-event `detail`)
- **$0.001 per review** (pay-per-event `review`)
- $0.00005 Actor start per run.

### Notes

- All traffic goes through built-in US residential proxies.
- Amazon's anti-bot is aggressive — the Actor detects blocks and reports them instead of returning empty data.
- Only public product data is collected.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
        "wireless headphones"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("celebrated-quadraphonic/amazon-scraper").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
