## Pricing

from $17.00 / 1,000 pulse runs

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Economy Health & Market Pulse — Daily Macro Tracker

How's the economy *today*? This composes the daily macro picture investors actually watch — from **free, keyless** sources — into one **healthScore + risk regime**, and (because it stores a daily snapshot) **tracks it day over day** and flags regime changes, yield-curve inversion and stress. Run it every morning for a one-glance read; schedule it + a webhook for a standing macro alarm. Read-only, keyless, agent-callable.

For investors following conditions day to day, macro/research teams, and AI agents that need a current economic read to reason over.

> Observable macro **signals** composed from public data — **not a market prediction and not financial advice.** "Risk-on" describes current conditions, not a buy/sell call. Your judgment makes the decision.

### What it does

Pulls, cross-computes and scores (all keyless):

- **Markets (Yahoo Finance):** S\&P 500, Nasdaq, **VIX** (fear), **10Y & 3M yields**, US Dollar index, WTI oil, gold, BTC — each with day %, 1-month trend and drawdown-from-high.
- **Yield curve:** the **3M→10Y spread** (the Fed's preferred recession signal), plus the official **2s10s** from the US Treasury daily curve when it responds.
- **FX (ECB/frankfurter):** USD vs EUR/GBP/JPY/CNY.
- **Structural backdrop (World Bank):** latest CPI inflation, GDP growth, unemployment for your country.

Then it computes a transparent **healthScore (0–100)** and a **regime** — `expansion-risk-on` · `neutral-mixed` · `caution-risk-off` · `risk-off-stress` · `recession-warning` — with the **drivers**, and tracks the score/regime across runs.

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `healthScore` / `regime` / `drivers` | the composite read + why |
| `markets{…}` | each indicator: price, `dayChangePct`, `trend`, `drawdownFromMonthHighPct` |
| `yieldCurve` | `spread3m10y` / `spread2s10s` + inversion flags |
| `fx`, `structural` | dollar basket + World Bank inflation/GDP/unemployment |
| `tracking` | `scoreDelta`, `previousRegime`, `avgScore30Runs`, `alerts[]` |
| `signal` | baseline-established / steady / alert |

### Why not just ask an AI agent?

An agent can read one number. It **can't** pull ~10 series across four sources, compute the yield-curve spread, normalise them into a weighted regime read, **and remember yesterday** to tell you the curve just inverted or the score dropped 15 points. The multi-source compute + the day-over-day state is the product.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `country` | string | US | ISO code for the World Bank structural backdrop. |
| `extraSymbols` | array | — | Extra Yahoo symbols to track (e.g. `^FTSE`, `EURUSD=X`). |
| `webhookUrl` | string | — | POST the pulse on a regime change / stress alert. |

**Example input**

```json
{ "country": "US" }
```

### Output

One record per run. **Example** (real run, trimmed):

```json
{
  "healthScore": 77,
  "regime": "expansion-risk-on",
  "drivers": [
    "equities below the 1-month average (-2.0% off high)",
    "VIX 20 - normal (15-20)",
    "yield curve normal (3m10y +1.03)"
  ],
  "markets": {
    "sp500": {"price": 7659.44, "dayChangePct": 1.43, "drawdownFromMonthHighPct": -2.04},
    "vix": {"price": 19.99, "dayChangePct": 12.87}
  },
  "yieldCurve": {"y3m": 4.07, "y10y": 5.098, "spread3m10y": 1.03, "inverted3m10y": false},
  "structural": {"inflationCpiPct": {"value": 2.95}, "gdpGrowthPct": {"value": 2.16}, "unemploymentPct": {"value": 4.2}},
  "tracking": {"scoreDelta": 0, "previousRegime": "expansion-risk-on", "avgScore30Runs": 77.0, "alerts": []}
}
```

The first run is a `baseline-established`. Later runs fill `tracking` and raise `alerts` (regime change, yield-curve inversion, VIX>30, S\&P drawdown>10%, score drop≥15).

### Use cases

- **Daily check-in** — one read of whether conditions are risk-on or deteriorating before you act.
- **Standing macro alarm** — schedule + webhook; get pinged when the regime changes or the curve inverts.
- **Research/journalism** — a dated, sourced, reproducible macro snapshot.
- **AI macro agents** — a scored, structured economic read to condition decisions on.

### Alerts / scheduling

Set `webhookUrl` and schedule daily (or hourly). First run = baseline; afterwards each run that changes regime or trips a stress threshold POSTs the pulse to Slack/Discord/email via Make/Zapier.

### FAQ

**Is this financial advice?** No. It's a composed read of public macro data — signals to inform your own judgment, not a recommendation.

**What's the recession signal?** An inverted yield curve (short rates above long rates). It reports the 3M→10Y spread every run (and the official 2s10s when the Treasury feed responds), and flags inversions.

**Does it need an API key?** No — every source is keyless public data.

**How is it "compounding"?** It stores a daily snapshot in a named store, so it reports the change since the last run and a rolling average, and alerts on regime shifts.

**Can I track other markets/countries?** Yes — `extraSymbols` for any Yahoo symbol, `country` for the World Bank backdrop.

**How fast / how much?** A few seconds per run. Pay-per-event: a base per run + a premium per alert fired.

### Data & attribution

Public data via keyless APIs: Yahoo Finance (markets), US Treasury (yield curve), ECB via frankfurter (FX), World Bank (structural). No keys, no personal data. Signals, not financial advice.

# Actor input Schema

## `country` (type: `string`):

ISO code for the World Bank structural context (CPI inflation / GDP growth / unemployment), e.g. US, GB, DE, JP. The daily market pulse (S\&P, VIX, yields) is the global risk barometer regardless.

## `extraSymbols` (type: `array`):

Additional Yahoo Finance symbols to include (e.g. "^FTSE", "EURUSD=X", "HG=F"). One line each.

## `webhookUrl` (type: `string`):

If set, the pulse is POSTed here on a regime change or stress alert (and on the first baseline run). Schedule the actor daily for a standing macro feed.

## Actor input object example

```json
  "country": "US"
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `pulse` (type: `string`):

One record per run: a healthScore (0-100) + regime (expansion / neutral / caution / risk-off / recession-warning) with drivers; the market indicators (equities, VIX, yields, dollar, oil, gold, BTC) with day change + trend + drawdown; the yield-curve spreads (recession signal); FX; World Bank structural backdrop; and day-over-day tracking (score delta, regime change, stress alerts).
