## Pricing

from $0.85 / 1,000 articles

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## 🗞️ Google News Scraper - Real URLs + Full Article Text

**Search Google News or pull topic headlines, in any language and country.** One row per article: title, source,
publish time, snippet and **the real publisher URL** (Google News only gives its own redirect links; we decode them).
Turn on `extractText` and every article also comes with its **full text, word count, author, image and publish time**
from the publisher's page, ready for summarization, RAG or monitoring.

Built for **media monitoring, PR, finance and market research, and AI agents** · no API key · Google's search operators
work (`"exact phrase"`, `OR`, `-word`, `site:reuters.com`) · time windows from 1 hour to 30 days.

### 📋 What you get (per article)

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `title`, `source`, `sourceUrl` | Headline and publisher |
| `publishedAt` | Publish time (ISO) |
| `url` | The publisher's real article URL (decoded) |
| `googleNewsUrl` | Google News link |
| `snippet` | Google News snippet |
| `text`, `wordCount`, `author`, `image`, `publishedTime` | With `extractText`: the article itself |
| `query` / `topic`, `language`, `country` | What found it |

### 📥 Input

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `queries` | Searches, e.g. `["openai"]`, `["site:reuters.com tesla"]` |
| `topics` | `TOP`, `WORLD`, `NATION`, `BUSINESS`, `TECHNOLOGY`, `ENTERTAINMENT`, `SPORTS`, `SCIENCE`, `HEALTH` |
| `timeRange` | `any`, `1h`, `1d`, `7d`, `30d` |
| `maxArticlesPerQuery` | Up to 100 |
| `language`, `country` | Edition, e.g. `en-US` / `US`, `es-419` / `MX`, `de` / `DE` |
| `decodeUrls`, `extractText` | Real URLs (default on), article text (off) |
| `excludeSources` | Drop sources by name |

```json
{ "queries": ["nvidia earnings"], "timeRange": "1d", "maxArticlesPerQuery": 50, "extractText": true }
```

### 💰 Pricing

`article` per article returned (real URL included) and `article-text` per article whose text was extracted. Empty
searches are free.

### 🤖 API / agents

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/centorprat~google-news-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>" \
     -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"queries": ["openai"], "timeRange": "1d", "maxArticlesPerQuery": 20, "extractText": true}'
```

### ❓ FAQ

- **API key?** None. It reads Google News' public feeds and the publishers' public pages.
- **Why are some `url` fields empty?** Google throttles URL decoding for very large bursts; those rows keep the Google
  News link. Enable the proxy option for big runs.
- **Paywalled articles?** Text comes from what the publisher serves publicly; paywalls and bot blocks give partial or no text
  (reported in `textError`, and not billed as text).

Google News topic sections (current headlines).

## `timeRange` (type: `string`):

Only articles from this window.

## `maxArticlesPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Google News returns up to 100 per search.

## `language` (type: `string`):

e.g. en-US, en-GB, es-419, de, fr, pt-BR, ja.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter edition country, e.g. US, GB, ES, DE, IN.

## `decodeUrls` (type: `boolean`):

Decode Google's redirect links into the publisher's real URL (included in the article price).

## `extractText` (type: `boolean`):

Open each article and return its text, word count, author, image and publish time (billed per article with text).

## `excludeSources` (type: `array`):

Drop articles from these sources, e.g. \["Yahoo Finance"].

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

For big runs: rotate IPs through Apify Proxy (your proxy plan) so URL decoding isn't throttled by Google.
