## Pricing

from $1.40 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Coles Australia Grocery Price Scraper: Products & Specials

Get current grocery prices from [coles.com.au](https://www.coles.com.au) by search term or category. Built for price tracking, specials monitoring and supermarket price comparison.

### What you can do with it

- Track the price of a fixed list of products day by day: schedule a run with the same search terms and compare `price` and `wasPrice` between runs.
- Watch the specials: pass `https://www.coles.com.au/on-special` as a category URL and read `onSpecial`, `promotion` and `wasPrice`.
- Compare unit prices across brands and pack sizes in one category with `unitPrice`.
- Fill a spreadsheet or a price-comparison page with current Coles prices in AUD.

### What you get

One record per product:

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `productId` | `5477930` |
| `name` | `Full Cream Milk` |
| `brand` | `Pura` |
| `size` | `2L` |
| `price` | `4.1` (AUD) |
| `wasPrice` | `4.65`, or `null` if not marked down |
| `unitPrice` | `$2.05/ 1L` |
| `promotion` | `1/2 Price, save $2.03`, or `null` |
| `onSpecial` | `true` |
| `available` | `true` |
| `category` | `Milk` |
| `url` | product page link |
| `imageUrl` | product image link |
| `query` | the search term or category this record came from |
| `scrapedAt` | ISO timestamp |

`price` is `null` for the few products Coles lists without a price.

#### Sample output

One record from a run on 2026-10-07, as saved:

```json
{
    "productId": "5477930",
    "name": "Full Cream Milk",
    "brand": "Pura",
    "size": "2L",
    "description": "PURA FULL CREAM MILK 2L",
    "price": 4.1,
    "wasPrice": 4.65,
    "unitPrice": "$2.05/ 1L",
    "promotion": "save $0.55",
    "onSpecial": true,
    "available": true,
    "category": "Milk",
    "url": "https://www.coles.com.au/product/pura-full-cream-milk-2l-5477930",
    "imageUrl": "https://cdn.productimages.coles.com.au/productimages/5/5477930.jpg",
    "query": "milk",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-10-07T19:05:22.350Z"
}
```

### Input

- **Search terms** — one or more product searches, e.g. `milk`, `oat milk`. If you give neither search terms nor category URLs (for example an API call with an empty input), the example search `milk` runs.
- **Category URLs** — Coles category pages, e.g. `https://www.coles.com.au/browse/dairy-eggs-fridge/milk`.
- **Maximum products per search term or category** — default 100.
- **Proxy** — optional.

```json
{
    "searchTerms": ["milk", "eggs"],
    "categoryUrls": ["https://www.coles.com.au/browse/dairy-eggs-fridge/milk"],
    "maxItemsPerQuery": 200
}
```

### FAQ

#### Is there a Coles price API?

We know of no public price API offered by Coles itself. This scraper can be used as one. Start a run through the Apify API or one of Apify's clients with the input described here, then read the results as JSON, CSV or Excel. Each record is one product with its current price, was-price, unit price and promotion.

#### How do I get the Coles specials for this week?

Put `https://www.coles.com.au/on-special` in **Category URLs**. Every product comes back with `onSpecial`, the `promotion` text (for example `save $0.55`) and `wasPrice`. To watch specials on particular products instead, use search terms and filter on `onSpecial`.

#### Can I get prices for one Coles store, or stock by store?

No. Prices are those Coles shows online to a visitor who has not chosen a store, and `available` is the flag shown to that visitor. Store-level prices and stock are not collected.

#### How do I track Coles price history?

The scraper returns today's prices, not past ones. To build a history, schedule it (daily, for example) and keep each run's dataset; `productId` stays the same between runs, so prices can be joined on it.

#### How much does it cost to scrape Coles prices?

$2.00 per 1,000 products on Apify's Free plan, plus a start fee of $0.00005 per run. Paid Apify plans pay less: Bronze 10%, Silver 20% and Gold 30% less. Runs that fail or return nothing cost nothing.

### Pricing

You pay per product saved. Runs that fail or return nothing cost nothing.

### Reliability

If Coles blocks a request or changes its page layout, the run fails with a clear message instead of returning partial or empty data. The scraper is checked against the live site daily.

### Notes

Prices are those Coles shows online to a visitor who has not chosen a store. This scraper collects product and price information only; it does not collect personal data.
