## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## eBay Active Listings & Auctions Search Scraper: US, UK, Germany

Get eBay search results for any keyword or any filtered eBay search URL, on ebay.com, ebay.co.uk, ebay.de, ebay.ca and ebay.com.au.

### What you can do with it

- Price research on active listings: `price`, `shippingCost`, `condition` and `soldCount` for a keyword.
- Watch auctions: filter to auctions, sort by ending soonest, and read `bids` and `timeLeft`.
- Compare prices for the same item on ebay.com, ebay.co.uk and ebay.de, each in its own currency.
- See which results are sponsored (`isSponsored`) and where each one sits (`position`).

### What you get

One record per listing:

- **Listing:** `itemId`, `title`, `url`, `imageUrl`, `condition` (as eBay shows it, for example `Brand New`, `Pre-Owned`)
- **Price:** `price` and `currency`; for a range such as `$20.99 to $88.99` you get `price` (low end) and `priceMax` (high end); `priceText` as shown; `originalPriceText` when eBay shows a struck-through earlier price
- **Shipping:** `shippingText` (for example `+$6.40 delivery`) and `shippingCost` (0 when free)
- **Format:** `listingType` (`auction`, `buy_it_now` or `auction_with_buy_it_now`), `bestOffer`, and for auctions `bids`, `timeLeft`, `endsText`, plus `buyItNowPrice` when an auction can also be bought outright
- **Signals:** `soldCount` and `watchers` when eBay shows them, `locationText`, `isSponsored`. See [Which fields are empty, and when](#which-fields-are-empty-and-when).
- **Seller:** `sellerFeedbackPercent` and `sellerFeedbackCount` when shown. Seller names are not collected.
- **Other:** `site`, `search`, `page`, `position` (order within the search), `fewerWordsMatch`, `scrapedAt`

### Input

- **Keywords** — one search per line. If you give neither keywords nor search URLs (for example an API call with an empty input), the example search `mechanical keyboard` on ebay.com runs.
- **eBay site** — ebay.com, ebay.co.uk, ebay.de, ebay.ca or ebay.com.au. Prices come in that site's currency.
- **Sort by**, **Condition**, **Listing type** — optional filters for the keywords.
- **eBay search URLs** — for anything else (category, price range, brand, location): set the filters on eBay and paste the address of the results page.
- **Maximum items per search** — default 100.

```json
{
    "keywords": ["mechanical keyboard", "iphone 13"],
    "site": "ebay.com",
    "condition": "used",
    "sort": "price_lowest",
    "maxItemsPerSearch": 120
}
```

```json
{
    "searchUrls": ["https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_nkw=kaffeemaschine&LH_Auction=1"],
    "maxItemsPerSearch": 60
}
```

### FAQ

#### Can it get eBay sold or completed listings?

No. eBay shows sold listings only to signed-in users, and this tool does not log in. Search URLs with `LH_Sold` or `LH_Complete` are rejected. It returns active listings and auctions.

#### How do I scrape eBay search results by keyword?

Put one search per line in **Keywords**, choose the eBay site, and optionally a sort order, condition and listing type. For anything else (category, price range, brand, location), set the filters on eBay and paste the address of the results page into **eBay search URLs**.

#### Which eBay sites does it cover?

ebay.com, ebay.co.uk, ebay.de, ebay.ca and ebay.com.au. Prices come in that site's currency.

#### Does it return item descriptions, item specifics or seller names?

No. It reads the results list, not each item's page. Seller names are not collected; seller feedback percent and count are returned when eBay shows them.

#### How long does a run take?

In tests on 8 October 2026, 10 items from ebay.com took 4 to 8 seconds in twelve runs of thirteen and 30 seconds in the other; 300 items took 9 to 40 seconds and 600 items 24 to 103 seconds.

#### How much does it cost?

$2.50 per 1,000 items on Apify's Free plan, plus a start fee of $0.00005 per run. Paid Apify plans pay less: Bronze 10%, Silver 20% and Gold 30% less. Runs that fail or return nothing cost nothing.

### Limits to know about

- **No sold or completed listings.** eBay shows sold listings only to signed-in users, and this tool does not log in. Search URLs with `LH_Sold` or `LH_Complete` are rejected.
- **Search results only.** It reads the results list, not each item's page: no description, item specifics, seller name, or full shipping options.
- **Run times vary.** eBay refuses many automated requests at random (about four in ten in tests), so pages are asked for again until they come, and some proxy addresses are slower than others. In tests on 8 October 2026, 10 items from ebay.com took 4 to 8 seconds in twelve runs of thirteen and 30 seconds in the other; 150 items took 8 to 10 seconds, 300 items 9 to 40 seconds and 600 items 24 to 103 seconds. 120 items from each of the other four sites took 6 to 23 seconds.
- **Repeats are dropped.** eBay repeats some listings (mostly sponsored ones) from page to page; each item is saved once, so a page often adds fewer than 60 new items.
- **Placeholders are removed, loose matches are flagged.** eBay's "Shop on eBay" filler cards are dropped. When a search has few exact matches, eBay adds "Results matching fewer words"; those items are included with `fewerWordsMatch: true` so you can filter them out.
- **`isSponsored`** is worked out from how the page draws its "Sponsored" label (eBay puts a hidden label on every card).
- **Seller feedback** comes from eBay's list view, which the scraper always asks for (a pasted URL set to gallery view is switched to list view; eBay's gallery cards carry no seller feedback). Large counts are rounded by eBay (`2.6K` becomes 2600). A seller without ratings has `sellerFeedbackCount` 0 and `sellerFeedbackPercent` null.
- **Result counts are eBay's**, and eBay stops listing a search after about 10,000 items.
- `timeLeft` and `endsText` are eBay's own text in the site's language and time zone.

### Which fields are empty, and when

The scraper reads what eBay prints on each result card. Fields eBay prints only for some listings are null on the others:

| Field | Filled when |
|---|---|
| `timeLeft`, `endsText`, `bids` | Auctions (and fixed-price listings ending soon). |
| `soldCount` | eBay prints "N sold", mostly on fixed-price listings that have sold several times. |
| `watchers` | eBay prints "N watchers". |
| `locationText` | Every listing on ebay.com. On ebay.co.uk, ebay.de, ebay.ca and ebay.com.au only for items located in another country (for example `from United States`); domestic items have no location line. |
| `sellerFeedbackPercent`, `sellerFeedbackCount` | Nearly every listing; the percentage is null for sellers without ratings. |
| `buyItNowPrice` | Auctions that can also be bought outright. |
| `priceMax` | Listings with variations priced as a range. |
| `originalPriceText` | eBay shows a struck-through earlier price. |

### Pricing

You pay per result saved. Runs that fail or return nothing cost nothing.

### Reliability

The scraper reaches each eBay site through residential proxies in that site's own country, visiting the home page first as a browser would, and repeats a refused page on the same and then on other addresses. A page that still does not come is tried through Apify's slower unblocker proxy. Every page is checked before it is saved: a page in the wrong language or with converted prices (eBay shows those to visitors from abroad) is thrown away and requested again. Pages are saved in order, so a run that stops at your item limit always holds the first items of the search. If a search still cannot be completed, the run fails with a message that names the search and says how many items were saved, instead of passing off partial data as complete.

### Notes

This scraper collects listing data only. It does not collect seller names, buyer information or any other personal data, and it does not log in.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

What to search for, one search per line, for example mechanical keyboard. If this and the search URLs are both empty, the example search mechanical keyboard on ebay.com runs.

## `site` (type: `string`):

Which eBay site to search with the keywords above. Prices come in that site's currency.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Applies to keywords.

## `condition` (type: `string`):

Applies to keywords.

## `listingType` (type: `string`):

Applies to keywords.

## `searchUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional, for any other filter: run a search on eBay, set the filters you want, and paste the address of the results page. Supported sites: ebay.com, ebay.co.uk, ebay.de, ebay.ca, ebay.com.au. Sold-listing searches are not supported.

## `maxItemsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Stop each keyword or URL after this many items. eBay shows 60 per page.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

The default (Apify residential proxies) is the fast route and is recommended; each eBay site is reached from its own country. Choosing the UNBLOCKER group instead sends every page through Apify's unblocker, which is much slower. Datacenter proxies are not verified to work.
