## Pricing

from $1.40 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Zillow ZIP Code Search Scraper: Homes for Sale, Rentals, Sold

Get Zillow listings for any US city, ZIP code or filtered search: homes for sale, rentals and recently sold.

### What you can do with it

- Pull every home for sale in a list of ZIP codes for a market report: price, beds, baths, size, `daysOnZillow`.
- Rental comparisons: rent, beds and baths for individual rentals, `rentZestimate` for homes, and `minRent`, `maxRent`, `availableUnits` and starting rent per unit type for apartment buildings.
- Recently sold homes in an area as comparables, with `dateSold` and sold price where the state makes it public.
- Watch new listings: schedule a run per ZIP code and compare `zpid` values between runs.

### What you get

One record per listing:

- **Location:** `address`, `street`, `city`, `state`, `zipCode`, `latitude`, `longitude`
- **Price and status:** `price`, `priceText`, `status` (FOR_SALE, FOR_RENT, SOLD), `statusText`, `daysOnZillow`, `dateSold`
- **Property:** `homeType`, `beds`, `baths`, `livingAreaSqft`, `lotArea`, `lotAreaUnit`
- **Valuation:** `zestimate`, `rentZestimate`, `taxAssessedValue` (when Zillow shows them)
- **Rental buildings:** `isBuilding`, `buildingName`, `minRent`, `maxRent`, `availableUnits`, `units` (per unit type: `beds`, starting rent as a number in `price` and as shown in `priceText`)
- **Other:** `zpid`, `url`, `brokerName`, `imageUrl`, `search` (which location or URL produced it), `scrapedAt`

### Optional add-on: property details

Turn on **Add property details** and the scraper also opens each home's own page and adds these fields to the same record:

- `description` — the full listing description
- `yearBuilt`, `monthlyHoaFee`, `pricePerSqft`
- `parking` (features as listed), `garageSpaces`, `hasGarage`
- `bathsFull`, `bathsHalf`, `propertySubType`
- `detailStatus` — finer than `status`, for example PENDING
- `mlsId`, `mlsName`, `listingUpdatedAt`
- `photoUrls` — every listing photo, largest size
- `zestimate` and `rentZestimate` are filled in when the property page has them and the search page did not
- `detailsFetched` — `true` when the property page was read

**Recently sold homes:** Zillow's property pages for sold homes do not carry the description or the last-updated time, so `description` and `listingUpdatedAt` are empty for them; the other detail fields are filled.

**Not included:** price history, tax history and schools. Zillow loads those separately and this scraper does not collect them. Individual fields are empty when the listing does not state them. In practice for-sale homes are the most complete; recently sold homes usually have no description, and rentals often have no year built or MLS number.

Apartment buildings (`isBuilding: true`) have no single-property page, so they are returned without details. If a property page cannot be read after several attempts, the listing is still returned, with `detailsFetched: false`. In both cases the add-on is not charged.

### Input

- **Locations** — cities such as `Austin, TX` or ZIP codes such as `78704`, with a **listing type** (for sale, for rent, recently sold).
- **Zillow search URLs** — for anything more specific. Set your filters on zillow.com (price range, beds, home type, map area) and paste the address of the results page.
- **Maximum listings per location or URL** — default 200.
- With no locations and no search URLs (for example an API call with an empty input), the scraper runs a sample search for `Austin, TX`.
- **Add property details** — off by default. See above.

```json
{
    "locations": ["Austin, TX", "78704"],
    "listingType": "sale",
    "searchUrls": ["https://www.zillow.com/austin-tx/condos/"],
    "maxItemsPerSearch": 200,
    "includeDetails": false
}
```

### FAQ

#### How do I get Zillow listings by ZIP code?

Put the ZIP codes in **Locations**, one per line (for example `78704`), and choose the listing type: for sale, for rent or recently sold. Each ZIP code is its own search and returns up to about 820 listings.

#### Is this a Zillow API?

It is not Zillow's own API, but you can call it like one. Start a run through the Apify API or one of Apify's clients with the input described here, then read the results as JSON, CSV or Excel. It reads Zillow's public search pages and does not log in.

#### How many listings can I get for one search?

Zillow shows at most about 820 listings per search (20 pages of 41). To cover a large city completely, search by ZIP code or split with filters such as price ranges.

#### Does it include price history, tax history or schools?

No. Zillow loads those separately and this scraper does not collect them. With **Add property details** on you get the description, year built, HOA fee, parking, MLS number and all photos.

#### Why are sold prices missing for some states?

Sold prices are missing in states where sale prices are not public record, such as Texas.

#### How much does it cost?

$2.00 per 1,000 listings on Apify's Free plan, plus a start fee of $0.00005 per run. Property details add $5.00 per 1,000 listings whose details were actually added. Paid Apify plans pay less: Bronze 10%, Silver 20% and Gold 30% less. Runs that fail or return nothing cost nothing.

### Limits to know about

Zillow shows at most about 820 listings per search (20 pages of 41). To cover a large city completely, search by ZIP code or split with filters such as price ranges.

Sold prices are missing in states where sale prices are not public record, such as Texas.

Rental searches come back in Zillow's own order, which puts apartment buildings first: in a large city the first pages are almost all buildings, and individual homes and apartments for rent appear further down. Apartment buildings have one record for the whole building: `price` and `priceText` give the lowest rent (for example `$2,245+/mo`), `beds` and `baths` are empty, and `units` lists each unit type with its starting rent. `minRent` and `maxRent` use Zillow's rent range when it shows one; otherwise they are the lowest and highest unit starting prices. To get mostly individual rentals, set the home type to Houses or Townhomes on zillow.com and paste the search URL.

### Pricing

You pay per listing saved. Runs that fail or return nothing cost nothing.

The property-details add-on is charged per listing whose details were actually added, on top of the per-listing price. With the add-on off, nothing extra is charged.

### Reliability

If Zillow blocks a request the scraper retries from a different address. If a search still cannot be completed, the run fails with a clear message instead of returning partial data silently. The scraper is checked against the live site daily.

### Notes

This scraper collects property listing data only. It does not collect agent or owner contact details.
