## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## ProspectForge AI — Professional Opportunity Research

Describe your services, skills, preferred clients and market in a guided ten-point brief. ProspectForge searches public web sources, checks evidence and public business contact details, and delivers a report with opportunity cards and outreach drafts.

### Pay for each completed research request

**Provisional price: USD1.49 per completed report containing at least one matched opportunity**, with up to five matches per research run. No ProspectForge subscription, prepaid pack or automatic renewal. Set your maximum run charge before starting. A paid Apify account is required for live research; its plan is managed separately.

An empty report, invalid input or a provider failure does not trigger the ProspectForge report event. This is not a promise that every search will find clients. Website availability and matching evidence determine the result.

### Tell us what matters

1. Service and deliverables.
2. Skills and software — alternatives stay alternatives unless you make them mandatory.
3. Target business types and projects.
4. Countries, regions and cities.
5. Remote or on site delivery and travel restrictions.
6. Freelance, recurring or other engagement.
7. Budget, currency and whether unpublished budgets are acceptable.
8. Must-have criteria and exclusions.
9. Source, report and outreach languages.
10. Confirm the brief, age 18+ and one research request.

### Two kinds of opportunity

- **Explicit requests:** public requests for external services, with date evidence within the last 30 days. An employee vacancy is not automatically a freelance project. Supported dates include ISO, Italian or English month names with an explicit year, and unambiguous numeric dates. Missing or ambiguous dates remain for manual review.
- **Documented website improvements:** HTTP evidence such as duplicated page titles. This mode does not provide a visual design review, performance measurement or a full SEO audit. Other services should use explicit requests until additional measurement tools are implemented.

Matching is assessed by GPT-6.1 Sol with high reasoning, then checked against freshly fetched text and extracted business contact values. Source URLs and quotes are included. A match is an opportunity for professional review, not a confirmed buyer, consent to marketing or a guaranteed contract.

Registration, eligibility and delivery arrangements may need a manual check. Such conditions are shown in the report and CSV when the brief explicitly accepts them; they are not presented as verified compliance.

### Deliverables

- HTML report with individual opportunity cards, links and expandable outreach drafts.
- CSV of matched opportunities and public business contacts.
- JSON report with evidence metadata, limitations and items needing verification.
- Provider usage estimates with the evidence report.

**No messages are sent.** The professional reviews the draft and contacts the business through an appropriate channel. No mailbox connection is needed.

### Start with a setup check

Default mode is **Preflight**: it checks your setup and lists any missing questions. It does not search the web and does not charge a report event. Complete the brief, select **Run one research request**, set the maximum run charge to at least USD1.49 and confirm the request to start live research. You do not need your own API key.

Preflight writes a dataset row marked `record_type: setup_check`, with zero matched opportunities. Live research writes the matched opportunities instead; an empty search is not a setup success or an acquired client.

Live research depends on provider availability and the publisher's research allowance. If it cannot proceed or no matched opportunity is delivered, no ProspectForge report event is charged.

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

Preflight checks setup without research or a report event charge. Complete and confirm the brief to request live research at the price shown.

## `offer` (type: `string`):

Describe what you do and what a client receives; do not include personal contact data.

## `engagement` (type: `string`):

Freelance projects, recurring contracts or employment? Specify what you accept.

Must-have requirements, excluded clients/tasks and other limits. Enter none if unrestricted.

## `languages` (type: `string`):

Specify source, report and outreach draft languages.

## `confirmed` (type: `boolean`):

I confirm the brief, I am at least 18, and I request one research report at the price shown in Pricing. No messages are sent.

## `opportunityMode` (type: `string`):
