## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## European Startup Funding Rounds Tracker

Get every **European startup funding round** as clean, structured data: company, amount (original currency, EUR and USD), round stage, country and city, sector, lead investors, all named investors, company website and the source article. The Actor reads 7 European tech news outlets every run, merges the same round reported by several of them, and lets you filter by country, sector, stage, amount, investor or keyword.

Schedule it daily or weekly with **Only new rounds** ticked and you get a running feed of newly funded European companies, paying only for rounds you have not received before.

**About 100 to 150 rounds a month** across the UK, Germany, France, the Nordics, the Baltics, Benelux, Iberia, Italy, Switzerland and Central & Eastern Europe.

### What you can use it for

- **Sales prospecting**: recently funded companies have budget and are hiring. Reach them in the weeks after their round.
- **Recruiting and staffing**: a fresh Series A or B means a hiring plan.
- **Investors and analysts**: track who invests in what, which sectors heat up, and deal flow by country.
- **Market and competitor watch**: get alerted when anyone in your sector raises.
- **Lists and newsletters**: feed a weekly "who raised" digest, a CRM or a Google Sheet.

### What you get for each round

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `companyName` | Phononic Vibes |

}
```
### How to use it
1. Click **Try for free**.
2. Keep the defaults to get the last 30 days of rounds across Europe, or set filters:
   - **Company countries**: e.g. France and Belgium only.
   - **Sectors**: AI, FinTech, HealthTech, BioTech, ClimateTech, Energy, Defence, DeepTech, SaaS and more.
   - **Round types**: Pre-seed, Seed, Series A, B, C, D+, Growth, Debt, Grant.
   - **Minimum / maximum amount (EUR)**: e.g. only rounds above €5M.
   - **Investor names**: e.g. every round Bpifrance or Balderton took part in.
   - **Keywords**: e.g. "battery", "payments", "drone".
3. Run it. Results are in the **Output** tab as a table, and can be exported to CSV, Excel, JSON, or sent to Google Sheets, Slack, Zapier, Make or your CRM through Apify integrations.
#### Monitoring: get only new rounds
Tick **Only new rounds**, give the feed a **Monitor name** (e.g. `fintech-france`), and create a **Schedule** (daily or weekly). Each run returns only the rounds this monitor has not returned before, so you never pay twice for the same round. Use different monitor names for different feeds.
### Sources
EU-Startups, Tech.eu, ArcticStartup (Nordics and Baltics), UKTN (UK), The Recursive (Central & Eastern Europe), Silicon Republic (Ireland) and FrenchWeb (France). Only their public RSS feeds are read; each record links back to the original article. When several outlets report the same round, the most complete report is used and the others are listed in `otherSources`.
**How far back**: 30 days by default. EU-Startups, ArcticStartup and UKTN go back several months; the other outlets only keep their latest stories, which is why a scheduled monitor builds the most complete history.
### Pricing
**$25 per 1,000 funding rounds** ($0.025 per round), pay per result. A full month of European rounds costs about $3. In monitoring mode you only pay for new rounds. Apify's free plan credit covers your first runs.
### Accuracy
Rounds are read from the wording of each announcement by rules written for European startup media. Company, amount, date and source are right in the vast majority of cases. Round stage, city, sector and investors are filled when the article states them and left empty otherwise. If you spot an error, open an issue on the **Issues** tab with the round's `sourceUrl` and it will be fixed.
### FAQ
**Is it legal?** The Actor reads public RSS feeds published for syndication and extracts facts (who raised how much from whom). It does not copy articles, and links every record to its source. No personal data is collected.
**Does it cover the US?** No, it is focused on European companies. US companies that appear in European media are kept with their country set accordingly.
**Can I get a webhook or an alert?** Yes: add an Apify integration (Slack, email, Zapier, Make or a webhook) to your scheduled monitor.
**Something is missing?** Ask on the Issues tab: new sources and fields are added on request.
