## Pricing

from $1.50 / 1,000 website analyzeds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Tech Stack Detector: Technologies, CMS & Email Provider

Find out **what any website is built with** — in bulk. Paste a list of domains and get the CMS, ecommerce platform, analytics and ad pixels, CRM and marketing automation, payment providers, hosting, CDN, JavaScript frameworks and more, plus the company's **email provider** (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 …) and **email/marketing services** (SendGrid, HubSpot, Mailchimp …) from public DNS records.

A fast, affordable alternative to BuiltWith and Wappalyzer lookups, with **7,600+ technology fingerprints**.

### Why use it

- **Lead generation & sales prospecting:** build lists of Shopify stores, WordPress sites, HubSpot or Salesforce users, sites using a competitor's product, or companies on Microsoft 365.
- **Lead enrichment:** add tech-stack columns to your CRM or spreadsheet of company domains.
- **Competitive intelligence:** see which analytics, A/B testing, chat or payment tools competitors use.
- **Agencies & SaaS vendors:** qualify prospects by platform ("uses WooCommerce but no email marketing tool").
- **Security & IT audits:** inventory web servers, CDNs and frameworks (with versions when exposed).

### What you get per website

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `domain`, `finalUrl`, `statusCode`, `title`, `description`, `language` | stripe.com · 200 · "Stripe | Financial Infrastructure…" |
| `technologies` | `[{"name": "Next.js", "version": "15.1", "categories": ["JavaScript frameworks"], "confidence": 100, "website": "https://nextjs.org", "isSaas": false}]` |
| `technologyNames`, `technologyCount` | \["Cloudflare", "Google Tag Manager", "HubSpot", …] |
| `categories` | `{"Analytics": ["Google Analytics", "Hotjar"], "CDN": ["Cloudflare"]}` |
| `cms`, `ecommerce`, `analytics`, `advertising`, `tagManagers`, `marketingAutomation`, `liveChat`, `paymentProcessors`, `hosting`, `cdn`, `webServers`, `jsFrameworks`, `programmingLanguages`, `security`, `cookieConsent`, `abTesting`, `reviews` | ready-to-filter columns |
| `emailProvider`, `mxRecords` | Google Workspace |
| `emailServices`, `spfRecord` | \["SendGrid", "Zendesk"] |
| `nameservers` | \["dana.ns.cloudflare.com"] |
| `socialProfiles` | company LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, GitHub links found on the homepage |

### How to use

1. Paste domains or URLs (one per line). `example.com`, `www.example.com` and `https://example.com/page` all work.
2. Keep **Check DNS** on to get email provider and services.
3. Run and export to CSV/Excel/JSON or call it via API, Make, Zapier or n8n.

```json
{ "domains": ["shopify.com", "stripe.com", "wordpress.org"], "checkDns": true }
```

### Pricing

Pay per **website analyzed**. Websites that cannot be reached, are invalid, or answer with an error/bot challenge are **not charged** (you still get the DNS-based results for them in the dataset). Duplicates are removed automatically. Set a maximum charge per run and the Actor stops at your limit.

### How it works & limits

- Each homepage is fetched once over HTTP (no browser), and its HTML, headers, cookies, scripts, meta tags and DOM are matched against the open-source [webappanalyzer](https://github.com/enthec/webappanalyzer) fingerprints (GPL-3.0). Public DNS records are read via DNS-over-HTTPS.
- Technologies that can only be seen by executing JavaScript in a browser may be missed; most common tools are detected from HTML and script URLs.
- Sites behind aggressive bot protection may block the request; those rows are flagged and not charged.
- Only public, technical information is collected. The Actor does not extract personal data such as emails or phone numbers of individuals.

### Questions or a missing technology?

Open an issue on the Actor page — we add fingerprints and fields on request.

# Actor input Schema

## `domains` (type: `array`):

One website per line: example.com, www.example.com or a full URL. Only the given page (homepage by default) is fetched.

## `checkDns` (type: `boolean`):

Reads public MX, TXT (SPF and site verifications), NS and SOA records to detect the email provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365...), email/marketing services (SendGrid, HubSpot, Mailchimp...) and DNS/hosting providers.

## `includeTechnologyDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Adds website, SaaS/open-source flags, pricing tier and confidence per technology.

## `minConfidence` (type: `integer`):

Hide detections below this confidence (0-100).

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Websites analyzed in parallel.

## `maxRetries` (type: `integer`):

Connection retries per website (also tries www. and http://).

## `proxyFallback` (type: `boolean`):

If a site answers 403/429/503 to a direct request, retry once through an Apify datacenter proxy IP.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

By default websites are fetched directly (fastest, cheapest). Enable a proxy to fetch every site through it.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "domains": [
    "shopify.com",
    "stripe.com",
    "wordpress.org"
  ],
  "checkDns": true,
  "includeTechnologyDetails": true,
  "minConfidence": 50,
  "maxConcurrency": 20,
  "maxRetries": 1,
  "proxyFallback": true,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```
