## Pricing

from $0.70 / 1,000 articles

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google News Scraper - Articles by Search or Topic, Any Country

Get Google News articles for any search, topic section or the top stories, in any country and language, with the
publisher's real article URL, the source, the publish time and the other outlets covering the same story. Google
News search operators work: `when:7d`, `site:reuters.com`, `intitle:`, quotes and OR. **$1.00 per 1,000 articles.**
No login, no API key, no proxy.

### What data you get

One row per article:

- `title` (without the " - Source" suffix Google adds), `url` (the publisher's own link), `source`, `sourceUrl`
- `publishedAt` (ISO 8601), `googleNewsUrl`, `articleId` (stable across runs, for deduplication)
- `related`: the same story from other outlets, each with title, source and link, and `relatedCount`
- `feed` and `feedValue` (which query or topic it came from), `rank`, `language`, `country`

### How to use

1. Add search queries (one per line) and/or pick topics: top stories, world, nation, business, technology,
   entertainment, sports, science, health.
2. Set the edition's language and country (en-US and US by default), and optionally keep only articles newer than
   "24 hours" or a date.
3. Run it, then download JSON, CSV or Excel, or pull the rows through the API. Schedule it for a news feed.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|-------|------|---------|-------------|
| `queries` | array | — | Searches; Google News operators work. |
| `topics` | array | `[]` | `top`, `world`, `nation`, `business`, `technology`, `entertainment`, `sports`, `science`, `health`. |
| `language` | string | `en-US` | Edition language, e.g. en-GB, de, fr, es-419, pt-BR. |
| `country` | string | `US` | Edition country, e.g. GB, DE, IN. |
| `maxArticlesPerFeed` | integer | `50` | Per query or topic (Google News feeds hold up to 100). |
| `newerThan` | string | — | An age like `"24 hours"` or a date. Older articles are left out and not charged. |
| `decodeUrls` | boolean | `true` | Resolve Google News links to publisher URLs. |
| `maxConcurrency` | integer | `5` | Articles resolved in parallel. |
| `timeoutSecs` | integer | `30` | Per request. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | off | Not needed. |

### Output example

A real row from the default run on 2026-09-29 (long links and the related list shortened here):

```json
{
  "ok": true,
  "type": "article",
  "title": "Still running iOS 26? Update your iPhones, iPads and Macs for this urgent security fix",
  "url": "https://techcrunch.com/2026/09/29/still-running-ios-26-update-your-iphones-ipads-and-macs-for-this-urgent-security-fix/",
  "country": "US",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-09-29T17:14:07.220Z"
}
```

A feed that returns nothing comes back as one row with `ok: false` and a plain reason. Those rows are free.

### Pricing

**$1.00 per 1,000 articles** ($0.001 each). An article that appears in two of your feeds is written and charged once.
Feeds that fail, articles filtered out by date and articles whose publisher link could not be resolved (they
still come with the Google News link and `urlError`) are free. In a test run on Apify, 579 articles from seven
feeds, every one with its publisher link, took 107 seconds.

Paid Apify plans pay less: 10% off on Bronze, 20% on Silver and 30% on Gold and higher tiers.

### Use cases

- **Media monitoring**: every article mentioning your brand, competitors or executives, with the publisher link.
- **News feeds for apps and newsletters**: topic sections per country, deduplicated, on a schedule.
- **Market and investment research**: coverage of a company or sector, and which outlets carry it.
- **AI and RAG pipelines**: fresh article links to fetch and summarise.

### FAQ

**Why resolve the links?** Google News feeds link to news.google.com redirect pages, not to the article. The Actor
turns each into the publisher's URL, so you can fetch, cite or deduplicate by the real link. If Google refuses a lookup,
the row keeps its Google News link, says why in `urlError`, and is not charged.

**How many articles can a query return?** Up to 100 per query or topic, which is what Google News feeds hold. Use
several narrower queries (or `when:1d`) to go wider.

**Which countries and languages work?** Any edition Google News has: en-US/US, en-GB/GB, de/DE, fr/FR, es-419/MX,
pt-BR/BR, hi/IN and more.

**Is it legal?** It reads Google News's public RSS feeds and returns headlines and links, not article text. You are
responsible for how you use them.

### Integrations

Run it from the Apify API or a client library, schedule it in Apify Console, or connect it to n8n, Make, Zapier or
any MCP client through Apify's integrations. Results are available as JSON, CSV, Excel and through the dataset API.
