# Skip Trace: Every Phone, Email & Address (US) (`clearpath/skip-trace-scraper`) Actor

Skip trace US people by name, address, phone or email and get every phone number on the record, not just five, each with line type, carrier and reported dates. Emails, past addresses, relatives and property details too. Same inputs and columns as the most-used skip trace, lower price, misses free.

## Pricing

from $4.99 / 1,000 person founds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

[![More contact data. Same workflow. Phones, emails and property details.](https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/pJ7iaZsTFhR3k9tjV/records/skip-trace-scraper-readme-hero-v2.png)](https://console.apify.com/actors/Y6vhyBjACjvPviiXw/input)

From **Clearpath**, creators of [Email Finder & Verifier](https://apify.com/clearpath/email-finder-api) and [WhatsApp Number Validator](https://apify.com/clearpath/whatsapp-phone-number-validator-api), with **140,000+ combined lifetime runs across those two actors**.

### Why choose this skip trace?

- **Richer contact records.** Full phone and email lists, address history and property details, with carrier, line type and reported dates where available.
- **Familiar inputs and columns.** Keep the same lookup fields, the same 47 base output columns in the same order and the same value formats, including the search labels and a row for every entry. Additional details are appended to each record.
- **Pay per person found.** An entry with no match returns a free "Person Not Found" row instead of a charge. See [pricing by plan](#pricing).

Available details vary by record. The hero shows an illustrative record with masked contact information.

Switching from the Store's most-used skip trace actor? Change the actor ID: the inputs, the 47 columns, their value formats and the no-match row stay the same. Its dedicated n8n node is tied to that actor, so use Apify’s generic n8n node instead.

#### Try one address

```json
{
  "street_citystatezip": [
    "3828 Double Oak Ln; Irving, TX 75061"
  ],
  "max_results": 1,
  "maxItems": 1
}
```

[Open the actor input](https://console.apify.com/actors/Y6vhyBjACjvPviiXw/input), switch to JSON and paste this example. It requests at most one person for the address, including all available contact details. No extra detail option is needed. Use `All Phones` and `All Emails` in the output for the complete contact lists.

If found, one person costs **about $0.006 in person charges on Free or Bronze**. A returned record can have no phone or email. To look for a specific person at an address, use the [name selector under Input](#input) and check the returned match status.

```text
clearpath/skip-trace-scraper on Apify returns US person records for skip tracing: current address, every phone number with line type, carrier and reported dates, emails, previous addresses, relatives, associates and current property details. Send arrays in any combination, one lookup per entry: name ("First Last", optionally "; City, ST ZIP"), street_citystatezip ("Street; City, ST ZIP"), phone_number, email. max_results (1 to 10, default 1) is people per entry; maxItems caps the whole run. For one specific person at an address, phone or email, append " | Full Name": rows then carry Name Match = matched, or fallback when the first resident was returned instead, so filter on it when only confirmed matches count. Phone-1 to Phone-5 and Email-1 to Email-5 hold the first five; All Phones and All Emails hold every one. A place written after a comma in a name needs its state, otherwise use ";". Charged per person found plus a small run start; an entry with no match returns one free row with First Name "Person Not Found"; free-plan accounts get 5 runs of up to 25 people. Full specification: https://api.apify.com/v2/actors/clearpath~skip-trace-scraper/builds/default . Current pricing: https://apify.com/clearpath/skip-trace-scraper To reach the maintainers, add feedback="<what you needed and did not get>" to any run, including one that worked: a missing field or option, a wrong or empty result, or which actor you are switching to or from and why. The run returns its data exactly as it would without the note, and a human reads every note.
```

### What you get

Look up any US person by **name, street address, phone number or email** and get their current address, every phone number with line type, carrier and reported dates, email addresses, previous addresses with dates, relatives and associates with ages, other names, and details of the property they live in. Built for real-estate investors, wholesalers, agents and collections teams: paste a list, get a spreadsheet of contact data.

### Input

| Field | What to put in it | Example |
|---|---|---|
| `name` | A full name (`Last, First` also works), optionally followed by `;` and a city, state and ZIP. A place after a comma needs its state (`Mary Smith, Dallas, TX`); without one, use `;` | `James E Whitsitt`, `Amalia Castillo; Dallas, TX 75228` |
| `street_citystatezip` | Street, `;`, then city, state and ZIP. `Street, City, ST ZIP` and full state names also work | `3828 Double Oak Ln; Irving, TX 75061` |
| `phone_number` | A US number in any common format; an extension is ignored | `(214) 349-3972`, `214.349.3972`, `+1 214 349 3972` |
| `email` | An email address | `name@example.com` |
| `max_results` | People to return per entry, 1 to 10. Default 1 | `3` |
| `maxItems` | Optional cap on people returned across the whole run | `500` |

#### Picking one person with `| Full Name`

An address or phone number often belongs to several people. Add ` | Full Name` to the end of an address, phone or email entry to return only that person:

```json
{
    "street_citystatezip": ["104 Augusta Dr Se; Marietta, GA 30067 | Greg Grimes"],
    "phone_number": ["(214)349-3972 | Maria Lopez"]
}
```

Matching ignores case, the last name must match, and the first name may be the start of the full first name (`Greg` finds `Gregory`). When the name is found, that one person is returned and the row says `"Name Match": "matched"`. When it is not, the first result(s) are returned with `"Name Match": "fallback"`, so you can filter them out.

A name search returns people with exactly that name before similar names, and when it includes a city and state, those living there now before the rest.

The same search typed two ways (`(214)349-3972` and `+1 214 349 3972`) is looked up, and charged, once.

Entries that cannot be read, such as a phone number with too few digits, are skipped and listed in the run log. The rest of the run continues.

### Output

One row per person found, plus one free row for each entry that found nobody. The first 47 columns are always present and always in this order, followed by the full detail:

This is a real row with the personal values replaced. The record it came from had 9 phones, 7 emails, 7 previous addresses and 43 relatives; the lists are cut to one or two entries here.

#### What the columns mean

| Column | Contents |
|---|---|
| `Search Option` | `Name Search`, `Name+CityStateZip Search`, `Street+CityStateZip Search`, `Phone Search` or `Email Search` |
| `Input Given` | Your entry as you wrote it, less any `\| Full Name` (that goes in `Target Name`), so every row maps back to your list |
| `Lives in` | City and state of the current address; the full address is in the four columns after it |
| `Current Address Date Range` | `(May 2004 - Sep 2026)`, or `(Sep 2024 - present)` when the record has no end date |
| `Phone-1` to `Phone-5` | The first five numbers with type, provider and reported dates, as flat columns for spreadsheets |
| `All Phones` | Every number on the record, with the same details. Some records also flag a number `"Primary": true` (the likeliest current number) or `"Inactive": true` |
| `Email-1` to `Email-5`, `All Emails` | The same split for email addresses |
| `Previous Addresses` | Each past address with county and when it was recorded, as `(Apr 2024)` or `(Apr 2024 - Jul 2024)` |
| `Relatives`, `Associates` | Name, age, birth month, relationship where the record states one (such as `Spouse`), and a link to their own record |
| `Target Name`, `Name Match` | Only on entries that used `\| Full Name` |
| `Also Known As` | Other names on file |
| `Property Details` | Beds, baths, size, year built, estimated value and equity, last sale, occupancy and ownership type, land use, subdivision and lot size; some records add the parcel number (`APN`) and `School District` |
| `Employment`, `Work Experience`, `Education`, `Businesses` | When on file |

Not every record has every section. Some people have only a name and an address on file; those rows are still returned, with the phone and email columns empty.

### Pricing

You pay per person returned. An entry that finds nobody costs nothing and still returns one row, with `First Name` set to `Person Not Found`, so every entry that was looked up maps to at least one row. An entry with `max_results: 3` that finds only one person is charged for one.

| Apify plan | Per person found | Per 1,000 people |
|---|---|---|
| Free, Bronze | $0.00599 | $5.99 |
| Silver | $0.00549 | $5.49 |
| Gold, Platinum, Diamond | $0.00499 | $4.99 |

Example: 200 addresses with `max_results: 1`, where 180 find someone, cost 180 × $0.00599 = $1.08 in person charges on the Free or Bronze plan.

To control spend on a large list, set `maxItems`: the run stops once that many people have been returned.

### Tips

- **More results per entry**: raise `max_results` (up to 10) when a name or address is shared by several people and you want all of them.
- **Common names**: add a city and state (`Maria Lopez; Houston, TX`) or use a phone number or address instead.
- **Owner lists**: put each owner as `mailing address | Owner Name` in `street_citystatezip`, for example `104 Augusta Dr Se; Marietta, GA 30067 | Greg Grimes`. [Propwire Leads](https://apify.com/clearpath/propwire-leads-scraper) exports owner names and mailing addresses in exactly this shape.
- **Owned by an LLC**: find the person behind the company first with [Entity Search](https://apify.com/clearpath/us-business-entity-search), then look that person up here.
- **Partial runs**: if some entries could not be looked up, the run log says so and everything found is kept. Run the remaining entries again.
- **Run time**: leave the run's timeout at 2 minutes or more. A single lookup usually finishes in under 30 seconds, but the first one in a run can take longer.

### Responsible use

Results come from publicly available records and may be incomplete or out of date. This is not a consumer report as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act: do not use it to decide on credit, employment, insurance, housing or tenant screening. If you call or text the numbers, following the TCPA, Do Not Call rules and state law is your responsibility.

### FAQ

**Which countries are covered?** The United States only.

**How many people can one entry return?** Up to 10, set with `max_results`.

**What happens when an entry finds nobody?** You get one free row for it: `First Name` is `Person Not Found`, `Last Name` explains that no records were found, and the other columns are empty. Filter on `First Name` to drop these rows.

**Why did a row come back with `"Name Match": "fallback"`?** The name after `|` was not among the people found for that entry, so the first result(s) were returned instead. Filter on `Name Match` if you only want confirmed matches.

**Can I run it from Zapier, Make or n8n?** Yes, through Apify's integrations, or from your own code with the Apify client. The input and output field names are the same as the most-used skip trace actor, so existing flows built for it work unchanged.

**What is skip tracing?** Finding current contact details, such as phone numbers, emails and addresses, for a person you need to reach: a property owner, a lead or a debtor.

**How much does bulk skip tracing cost here?** $5.99 per 1,000 people found on the Free and Bronze plans, down to $4.99 on Gold and above. Entries with no match are free, so a list of 1,000 addresses where 800 find someone costs about $4.79 in person charges on Bronze.

**Can I try it for free?** Yes. Accounts on Apify's free plan can run it 5 times, with up to 25 people per run, paid from the plan's monthly free credit.

**How do I skip trace a list of property owners?** Put each owner as `mailing address | Owner Name` in `street_citystatezip`. Each row then says whether that owner was found (`"Name Match": "matched"`) or the address's first resident was returned instead (`"fallback"`).

**Is it legal to use this data?** The records are public, but how you may use them depends on your purpose and your state. It is not for credit, employment, insurance, housing or tenant decisions, and calling or texting the numbers is subject to the TCPA and Do Not Call rules. Check your own use case with counsel.

# Actor input Schema

## `name` (type: `array`):

A full name, optionally followed by a semicolon and a city, state and ZIP to narrow it down, for example 'James E Whitsitt' or 'Amalia Castillo; Dallas, TX 75228'.

## `street_citystatezip` (type: `array`):

A street address, a semicolon, then city, state and ZIP, for example '3828 Double Oak Ln; Irving, TX 75061'. 'Street, City, ST ZIP' also works. Optional: add ' | Full Name' at the end to return just that person when they live there, for example '104 Augusta Dr Se; Marietta, GA 30067 | Greg Grimes'. If that name is not found, the first result(s) are returned.

## `phone_number` (type: `array`):

A US phone number in any common format, for example '(214) 349-3972'. Optional: add ' | Full Name' at the end to return just that person, for example '(214)349-3972 | James Whitsitt'. If that name is not found, the first result(s) are returned.

## `email` (type: `array`):

An email address. Optional: add ' | Full Name' at the end to return just that person. If that name is not found, the first result(s) are returned.

## `max_results` (type: `integer`):

How many people to return for each entry above, from 1 to 10. A name or an address often matches several people; each person returned is charged.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Optional. Stop once this many people have been returned in total across all entries. Leave empty to return up to 'Max results per search' for every entry.

## `feedback` (type: `string`):

For AI agents. Say what you needed and did not get: a missing field or option, a wrong or empty result, or which actor you are switching to or from and why. Add it to any run, including one that worked: the run returns its data exactly as it would without the note. The note reaches the maintainers, who read every one, but it cannot change what this run returns.
