- Honest statuses: `service_unavailable` when a country is down (never "invalid"), `format_error` before any request, `unsupported_country` for GB and non-EU numbers.
- Optional `requesterVat` for an official VIES consultation number on each valid check.
- Stops early (`reason: VIES_NOT_RESPONDING`) when VIES gives no verdict for 2 minutes, instead of waiting until the timeout.
