## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Weibo Scraper

Scrape **Weibo** (weibo.com), China's biggest public social network, and get clean, flat JSON: keyword search, post details, public comments, user profiles with recent posts, and the live trending list. No Chinese-language skills, proxies, cookies or login needed. Pay-per-event pricing: a small start fee per run plus a fee per item returned.

### What can it do?

| Mode | Give it | You get |
|---|---|---|
| `search` | a keyword | posts: text, author, likes, comments, reposts, publish time, link |
| `post` | post links or IDs | the same post fields for each post |
| `comments` | post links or IDs | comment text, likes, reply count, time, public nickname |
| `user` | UIDs or profile links | profile (nickname, bio, verification, followers, post count) plus recent posts |
| `hot` | nothing | the current trending list: rank, keyword, heat, label, link |

### Use cases

- **Brand and PR monitoring**: track mentions of your brand, product or competitors and read what people say in the comments.
- **Trend spotting**: pull the trending list on a schedule and see which topics rise and fall.
- **Influencer research**: compare followers and post engagement of accounts in your niche.
- **AI and NLP datasets**: collect Chinese social posts and comments for sentiment analysis or retrieval.

### Input

```json
{ "mode": "search", "keyword": "原神", "maxResults": 50 }
```

```json
{ "mode": "comments", "posts": ["https://weibo.com/6593199887/Rlf5vlWRz"], "maxResults": 200 }
```

```json
{ "mode": "hot", "maxResults": 50 }
```

`maxResults` is the total number of items for the whole run. The run stops as soon as it is reached, or when the spending limit you set in the run options is used up.

### Output

Every item has a `type` (`post`, `comment`, `user` or `hot`). Example post item:

```json
{
  "type": "post",
  "postId": "5350628895231161",
  "mblogid": "Rlf5vlWRz",
  "url": "https://weibo.com/6593199887/Rlf5vlWRz",
  "text": "Example post text",
  "authorName": "ExampleAccount",
  "authorId": 6593199887,
  "authorUrl": "https://weibo.com/u/6593199887",
  "publishedAt": "2026-10-05T04:00:01Z",
  "reposts": 51,
  "comments": 26,
  "likes": 612,
  "imageCount": 0,
  "isPinned": false
}
```

Comment items contain `text`, `likes`, `replyCount`, `publishedAt` and the public `authorName` only. The full field list is in the dataset schema; export as JSON, CSV, Excel or via API.

### Pricing

| Event | What it covers | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Run start | charged once per run | *see store page* |
| Result | one post, comment or trending entry | *see store page* |
| Profile | one user profile | *see store page* |

The start fee is charged once at the beginning of every run, even if a run returns few or no items. Items are charged only when they are actually returned. Set a maximum cost per run in the run options and the Actor stops when it is reached.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Weibo account or cookies?** No.

**Does it collect personal data?** No. It returns public content and statistics. Authors and commenters appear by public nickname (and, for post authors, public user ID) only. Phone numbers, real names, locations and private messages are never collected.

**How do I get more than one page of results?** Raise `maxResults`; pagination is handled for you.

**Can I use it through the API or on a schedule?** Yes, like any Apify Actor: API, schedules, webhooks, and integrations with Zapier, Make, Google Sheets and more. It also works with AI agents through the Apify MCP server.

**Are results in Chinese?** Post text and comments are returned in the original language. Chinese keywords give the best search results.

**Search shows fewer posts than weibo.com.** Search returns the posts Weibo ranks for the keyword; the number per page varies.

**Something looks wrong or a field is empty.** Open an issue on the Actor page with the run link; the Actor is monitored daily and fixed quickly.

**Is scraping legal?** The Actor only returns publicly visible information. You are responsible for using the data in line with applicable laws and Weibo's terms.
