## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Maps Leads Qualifier

Most map scrapers give you a list. This Actor gives you a **ranked pipeline**: who to call first, why, and what to pitch.

### Where businesses come from

| Source | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| **OpenStreetMap** (default, built in) | No extra fee | Businesses with websites, chains, clinics, hotels, offices |
| **Google Maps** | Plus about $0.003–0.004 per place, billed by the separate third-party Google Maps Scraper | The fullest coverage, including small shops |
| **Existing dataset** | No extra fee | Reusing an earlier Google Maps Scraper run |
| **Your own list** | No extra fee | CSV or CRM exports |

### Pipeline

1. **Enrich**: each website is visited (respecting robots.txt) to collect:
   - Business emails, phones, WhatsApp, social profiles and contact forms.
   - Website signals: HTTPS, mobile-friendliness, site age, online booking, delivery apps, e-commerce, live chat and analytics.
2. **Qualify** with **industry profiles** (dentists, clinics, restaurants, hotels, real estate, law firms, salons, gyms, schools, automotive, trades, retail, professional services). Every point comes with a plain-language reason.
3. **Match your offer**: website design, SEO, booking, ordering, e-commerce, reputation, social media, WhatsApp chat or ads. Leads with fixable gaps score higher and get a ready **pitch** line.
4. **Deliver**: leads are deduplicated, ranked and given an **A/B/C/D tier** with four sub-scores. You also get a **HubSpot-format CRM CSV**.

### Example

```json
{ "searchStringsArray": ["dentist"], "locationQuery": "Nairobi, Kenya",
  "offers": ["website-design", "online-booking"], "tiers": ["A", "B"] }
```

### Honest data

- **Emails are not verified.** Each is labelled `role` or `personal`, and `email_verified` is always `false`. By default only role mailboxes (info@, bookings@) are kept. Collect personal addresses only with a lawful basis (GDPR, Kenya DPA, POPIA).
- OpenStreetMap rows have no Google ratings, so they are scored on website and contact signals instead. They include the ODbL `attribution` field, which you must keep when publishing the data.

### Pricing

- **$3.00 per 1,000 qualified leads.** Filtered-out leads are free.
- The Google Maps source adds **$0.01 per search term**, plus the Google Maps Scraper's own per-place fee.

# Actor input Schema

## `source` (type: `string`):

OpenStreetMap is built in: no extra Actor, no per-place fee, great for businesses with websites; coverage is thinner than Google for small shops. Google Maps runs Apify's Google Maps Scraper (compass/crawler-google-places, a third-party Actor) for the fullest coverage; its per-place price (~$0.003–0.004) is billed to you separately. Or reuse an existing dataset, or paste your own list.

## `searchStringsArray` (type: `array`):

What you would type in a map search, e.g. "dentist", "law firm". Used by the OpenStreetMap and Google Maps sources.

## `locationQuery` (type: `string`):

City and country, e.g. "Nairobi, Kenya".

## `maxPlacesPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Places per search term. For Google Maps, each place costs the Google Maps Scraper's per-place price.

## `radiusKm` (type: `integer`):

Search within this radius of the location's centre instead of its whole boundary. 0 = whole city/area.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Google Maps result language (e.g. en, fr, sw). Google Maps source only.

## `countryCode` (type: `string`):

Optional two-letter country code for the Google Maps source, e.g. ke.

## `datasetId` (type: `string`):

Dataset of a Google Maps Scraper run (any Actor output with title/website/phone fields works).

## `places` (type: `array`):

JSON list, e.g. \[{"name":"Acme Ltd","website":"acme.co.ke","phone":"0722…","category":"Hardware store"}].

## `industry` (type: `string`):

Which qualification rules to apply. Auto picks a profile per business from its Google category.

## `offers` (type: `array`):

Leads are scored higher when their website/profile shows a gap you can fix, and each lead gets a ready pitch line.

## `minLeadScore` (type: `integer`):

0–100. Leads below are not saved (and not charged).

## `tiers` (type: `array`):

A ≥ 70, B ≥ 50, C ≥ 30, D below. Empty = all.

## `scrapeWebsites` (type: `boolean`):

Find emails, extra phones, social profiles, contact forms and qualification signals (booking, ordering, HTTPS, mobile-friendly, site age).

## `maxPagesPerSite` (type: `integer`):

Home page plus contact/about/services pages.

## `emailPolicy` (type: `string`):

Role mailboxes (info@, bookings@) are business contact points. Addresses that look like a named person are personal data; only keep them if you have a lawful basis (e.g. GDPR legitimate interest, Kenya Data Protection Act).

## `respectRobotsTxt` (type: `boolean`):

Skip website pages the site owner disallows.

## `skipClosedPlaces` (type: `boolean`):

Drop permanently or temporarily closed places.

## `onlyWithWebsite` (type: `boolean`):

Turn off if you sell websites: businesses without one are your best prospects.

## `requirePhone` (type: `boolean`):

Only keep businesses with a phone number.

## `requireEmail` (type: `boolean`):

Only keep businesses where an email was found.

## `minRating` (type: `number`):

0 = no limit.

## `minReviews` (type: `integer`):

0 = no limit.

## `maxLeads` (type: `integer`):

Save at most this many leads (best first). 0 = no limit.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Business websites rarely need a proxy.
