## Pricing

from $2.99 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## DuckDuckGo Search Results Scraper

DuckDuckGo search results scraper for public organic listings. Paste a search URL or keyword and collect result titles, destination URLs, display URLs, and snippets into an Apify dataset.

Default `maxItems` is 3 so quick test runs stay cheap. Raise it up to 1000 when you need a larger export. Each result is saved as soon as it is collected.

### What data does this actor extract

| Field | Meaning |
|-------|---------|
| `position` | 1-based rank in the collected set |
| `resultTitle` | Organic result title |
| `resultUrl` | Destination URL |
| `displayUrl` | Visible URL text when shown |
| `snippet` | Short result snippet |
| `searchQuery` | Keyword used for the search |
| `sourceUrl` | Search page used for the request |
| `scrapedAt` | ISO timestamp for when the row was saved |

### Use cases

- Track DuckDuckGo organic rankings for target keywords
- Compare privacy-minded results with Google or Bing SERPs
- Watch brand and competitor mentions without personalization
- Feed research agents with fresh public source links
- Spot content gaps against pages that already rank
- Schedule weekly rank checks into Sheets or a dashboard

### How to run

1. Add DuckDuckGo search URLs under `startUrls`, and/or set `searchQuery`.
2. Leave `maxItems` at 3 for a cheap test, or raise it for a larger run.
3. Start the run. Rows appear in Output as each result is saved.

### Input

| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|-----------|------|---------|-------------|
| `startUrls` | array | Sample coffee search | DuckDuckGo search URLs |
| `searchQuery` | string | coffee | Optional keyword search |
| `maxItems` | integer | 3 | Max results to save (hard cap 1000) |
| `requestTimeoutSecs` | integer | 60 | Per-request timeout in seconds |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    {
      "url": "https://html.duckduckgo.com/html/?q=coffee"
    }
  ],
  "searchQuery": "coffee",
  "maxItems": 3,
  "requestTimeoutSecs": 60
}
```

### Example output

```json
{
  "position": 1,
  "resultTitle": "Coffee - Wikipedia",
  "resultUrl": "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffee",
  "displayUrl": "en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffee",
  "snippet": "Coffee is a beverage brewed from roasted, ground coffee beans.",
  "searchQuery": "coffee",
  "sourceUrl": "https://html.duckduckgo.com/html/?q=coffee",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-11-02T06:30:00+00:00",
  "error": null
}
```

### FAQ

**How many results can one run collect?**
Up to `maxItems`, with a hard maximum of 1000 results per run. The default is 3.

**Do I need a DuckDuckGo account?**
No. It only reads public search results.

**What happens if a later page fails?**
If some results were already saved, those rows stay in the dataset. The run continues with what it has.

**Can I schedule recurring runs?**
Yes. Use Apify schedules and export the dataset to Sheets, Make, Zapier, or n8n.
