## Pricing

from $2.99 / 1,000 results

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Expedia Hotels Scraper

Expedia hotels scraper for public search results. Paste a Hotel-Search URL or a destination and collect hotel names, nightly prices, guest ratings, and listing links into an Apify dataset.

Default `maxItems` is 3 so quick test runs stay cheap. Raise it up to 1000 when you need a larger export. Each hotel is saved as soon as it is collected.

### What data does this actor extract

| Field | Meaning |
|-------|---------|
| `hotelId` | Expedia hotel listing id |
| `hotelName` | Public hotel name |
| `price` | Displayed price when shown |
| `currency` | Currency code when shown |
| `rating` | Guest rating when shown |
| `hotelUrl` | Public hotel information URL |
| `destination` | Search destination when present |
| `sourceUrl` | Search page used for the request |
| `scrapedAt` | ISO timestamp for when the row was saved |

### Use cases

- Compare hotel prices for a destination and travel dates
- Spot rate gaps between nearby properties
- Rank stays by guest rating before you book
- Track how prices move as check-in gets closer
- Feed a travel deals page or price watch dashboard
- Schedule daily pulls for a city and chart the averages

### How to run

1. Add Expedia hotel search URLs under `startUrls`, and/or set `searchQuery` (optional check-in, check-out, adults).
2. Leave `maxItems` at 3 for a cheap test, or raise it for a larger run.
3. Start the run. Rows appear in Output as each hotel is saved.

### Input

| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|-----------|------|---------|-------------|
| `startUrls` | array | Sample Paris search | Expedia Hotel-Search URLs |
| `searchQuery` | string | Paris, France | Optional destination |
| `checkIn` | string | 2026-12-10 | Optional check-in (YYYY-MM-DD) |
| `checkOut` | string | 2026-12-11 | Optional check-out (YYYY-MM-DD) |

### FAQ

**How many hotels can one run collect?**
Up to `maxItems`, with a hard maximum of 1000 listings per run. The default is 3.

**Do I need an Expedia login?**
No. It only reads public hotel search results.

**What happens if a search page fails?**
If some hotels were already saved, those rows stay in the dataset. The run continues with what it has.

**Can I schedule recurring runs?**
Yes. Use Apify schedules and export the dataset to Sheets, Make, Zapier, or n8n.
