## Pricing

from $4.99 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event and usage. You are charged both the fixed price for specific events and for Apify platform usage.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Finance Scraper

Extract public quote, session-statistic, and company-profile data directly from [Google Finance](https://www.google.com/finance/). The Actor uses lightweight HTTP requests, produces one source-backed record per quote, and does not require a browser.

### Features

- Regular-session price, change, change percentage, currency, and market status
- Optional after-hours price and change
- Open, high, low, market cap, volume, dividend, P/E ratio, and 52-week range when Google exposes them
- Company profile text and public facts such as CEO, employee count, founded date, headquarters, and sector
- Multiple symbols, deterministic normalization, deduplication, retries, and strict no-result failure
- Direct networking by default with optional Apify or custom proxy configuration

### Input

```json
{
    "queries": ["AAPL:NASDAQ", "NSE:RELIANCE", "MSFT"],
    "defaultExchange": "NASDAQ",
    "maxItems": 3,
    "hl": "en",
    "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": false }
}
```

Use Google's canonical `SYMBOL:EXCHANGE` form (`AAPL:NASDAQ`), the common exchange-first form (`NSE:RELIANCE`), or a plain symbol. Plain symbols use `defaultExchange`; they are not guessed from search results. Duplicate normalized identifiers are removed before crawling.

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `queries` | `string[]` | `["AAPL:NASDAQ"]` | One to 100 quote identifiers |
| `maxItems` | integer | `20` | Maximum unique normalized quotes, 1–100 |
| `defaultExchange` | string | `NASDAQ` | Exchange used for plain symbols |
| `hl` | string | `en` | Google Finance interface language; English preserves the documented stat labels |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | direct/no proxy | Optional Apify or custom proxy configuration |

If proxy use is explicitly requested but cannot be configured, the Actor fails instead of silently switching routes.

### Output

Required identity and provenance fields are `symbol`, `exchange`, `companyName`, `price`, `query`, `sourceUrl`, `sourceDomain`, `provenance`, and `scrapedAt`. Optional market fields include `currency`, `change`, `changePercent`, `afterHoursPrice`, `marketStatus`, `open`, `high`, `low`, `marketCap`, `averageVolume`, `volume`, `peRatio`, `dividend`, `week52High`, `week52Low`, and `allStats`. Company information is returned in `about` and `companyDetails`.

Values are preserved as Google displays them (for example `$319.70`, `4.67T`, or `+1.63%`) so currency symbols, units, and abbreviations are not silently misinterpreted. This Actor provides public-source data, not investment advice.

### Local development

```bash
npm ci --ignore-scripts
npm test
apify run --purge --input-file qa-inputs/google-finance-scraper/local.json
npm run validate
```

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Quote identifiers. Use SYMBOL:EXCHANGE (AAPL:NASDAQ), EXCHANGE:SYMBOL (NSE:RELIANCE), or a plain symbol resolved with Default exchange.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of results to scrape.

## `defaultExchange` (type: `string`):

Exchange used for plain symbols without a colon.

## `hl` (type: `string`):

Google Finance interface language used for field labels.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional proxy settings. Direct requests are used by default; explicit proxy failures stop the run.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "queries": [
    "AAPL:NASDAQ",
    "MSFT:NASDAQ"
  ],
  "maxItems": 20,
  "defaultExchange": "NASDAQ",
  "hl": "en",
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
