## Pricing

from $1.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Signal NFX Investors Scraper - VC & Angel Investor Data

**Scrape VC and angel investor profiles from Signal by NFX (signal.nfx.com)**: name, firm, position, check size (min, target, max), sectors, stages, investment locations, LinkedIn/Twitter/Crunchbase links, experience, education and **past investments**. Paste an investor list URL or an investor profile URL, press Start, and export the **investor database** as JSON, CSV or Excel, or call it as an **API**.

**Target website:** [signal.nfx.com](https://signal.nfx.com)

### ✨ Features of this Signal NFX investor scraper

- **Investor profile extraction** gets name, headline, position, firm, fund size, check sizes, sectors, stages, locations and social links for every investor
- **Past investments and background** cover every funding round on record (company, stage, amount, date, lead/board role), plus experience, education and press links
- **Every investor list in one run**: the "All investor lists" option covers all 358 lists linked from the Signal homepage (by sector, stage and location), with duplicates removed
- **Pagination support** walks a ranked list (up to thousands of investors) in Signal's ranking order
- **Investor and firm email finder**: optionally looks up the investor's firm website and adds the emails found (name, role and LinkedIn) as a `leads` array, plus `email` when one of them is the investor's own. Off by default. Free Apify plans get it for 1 investor per run; paid plans have no limit
- **New-investor monitoring** with a cache project name, so scheduled runs return only investors not seen before
- **Proxy support**, though the site works without one
- **No browser required**, which makes runs fast and cheap

### 🚀 How to scrape Signal NFX investors in 5 steps

1. [Sign up](https://apify.com/sign-up) for a free Apify account, which includes **$5 monthly credit**.
2. Open the actor page and click **Try for free**.
3. Fill in the **Input** fields (an investor list URL, an investor URL, or turn on "All investor lists").
4. Click **Start** and wait for the run to complete.
5. Download results from the **Output** tab in JSON, CSV, or Excel format.

You can also run this actor via the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2) or integrate it directly into your workflows using [Zapier](https://zapier.com/apps/apify), [Make](https://www.make.com/), or [n8n](https://n8n.io/).

### 💰 Pricing for the Signal NFX scraper

This actor uses **pay-per-result** billing: you pay for each investor saved to the dataset.

- **Emails are an optional extra charge.** With **Find investor emails** on, each investor whose firm website returned at least one email costs a separate **lead-enrichment** event on top of the result. Investors whose firm has no website, or where no email is found, cost nothing extra.
- **Free plan:** the scraper itself runs normally for free users. Only the email lookup is limited, to **1 investor per run**. Paid plans can look up emails for as many investors as they like.
- New Apify accounts include **$5 of free monthly credit**.
- It uses plain HTTP requests instead of a headless browser, so it costs much less to run than browser-based scrapers.
- Proxies are off by default, which keeps runs as cheap as possible.

### 🔧 Signal NFX scraper input configuration

### 📧 How to find investor emails from Signal NFX (email enrichment)

Signal NFX does not show investor emails to logged-out visitors, so the actor can look them up for you. Tick **Find investor emails** and it takes the website of each investor's firm and searches that domain for public email addresses.

- **What you get**: every investor has a `leads` array of contacts found on the firm's website (name, email, email type, role, department, seniority, phone and LinkedIn), and an `email` field. `email` is filled only when one of those contacts matches the investor's first and last name, otherwise it is `null`.
- **Always present**: `email` and `leads` are in every record, as `null` and `[]` when the option is off, the firm has no website or nothing was found, so the output format never changes.
- **Pay only when found**: a separate **lead-enrichment** charge applies per investor whose firm website returned at least one email. No website or no email means no extra charge.
- **Free plan limit**: free Apify users can run the scraper as usual, but the email lookup returns results for **only 1 investor per run**. The other investors are still saved with `email: null` and `leads: []`, and the log tells you about the limit. Paid users have no limit and can enrich every investor.
- **One lookup per firm**: investors at the same firm share a website, so each domain is looked up once per run.

**Example of the `leads` array** (placeholder values, not real people):

| Name | Email | Email type | Position | Department | Seniority | Phone | LinkedIn |
| ---- | ----- | ---------- | -------- | ---------- | --------- | ----- | -------- |
| Jane Doe | jane.doe@example-ventures.com | personal | Partner | executive | senior | +1 555 010 0100 | linkedin.com/in/jane-doe-example |
| John Roe | john.roe@example-ventures.com | personal | Principal | management | senior | — | — |
| General contact | info@example-ventures.com | generic | — | — | — | — | — |

Each row is one object in the array. Fields the lookup cannot find are `null`.

### 🔁 Scrape only new Signal NFX investors with the cache

Set the same **Cache project name** on every scheduled run and the actor remembers each investor it has saved under that name.

- **Skipped and not charged**: investors already saved are not saved again, not charged, and do not count towards **Max items**.
- **Tagged as new**: every saved record gets `changeType: "new"`.
- **Separate lists**: different names keep separate caches, so you can track one investor list or sector per project.
- **Combines with emails**: cached investors are skipped before the email lookup, so you are not charged for emails on investors you already have.

Use it with Apify Schedules for a daily or weekly feed of newly ranked investors.

### 🐍 How to scrape Signal NFX with Python, JavaScript or the API

Run the actor programmatically with the official Apify clients. Replace `<YOUR_API_TOKEN>` with the token from your [Apify Console](https://console.apify.com/account/integrations).

**Python** (`pip install apify-client`):

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_API_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("confidential_gnat/signal-nfx-investors-scraper").call(run_input={
    "startUrls": [{"url": "https://signal.nfx.com/investor-lists/top-saas-seed-investors"}],
    "maxItems": 50,
    "scrapeDetails": True,
})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item)
```

**JavaScript** (`npm install apify-client`):

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' });
const run = await client.actor('confidential_gnat/signal-nfx-investors-scraper').call({
    startUrls: [{ url: 'https://signal.nfx.com/investor-lists/top-saas-seed-investors' }],
    maxItems: 50,
    scrapeDetails: true,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(items);
```

**cURL**, which starts a run and waits for the dataset:

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/confidential_gnat~signal-nfx-investors-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_API_TOKEN>" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"startUrls":[{"url":"https://signal.nfx.com/investor-lists/top-saas-seed-investors"}],"maxItems":50,"scrapeDetails":true}'
```

### 💡 What you can use Signal NFX investor data for

- Build a fundraising target list of investors who match your sector, stage and check size
- Enrich a CRM with investor LinkedIn, Twitter, Crunchbase and website links
- Research an investor's portfolio and recent rounds before a pitch
- Map which firms and partners are most active in a sector or city
- Watch Signal lists on a schedule and get only newly ranked investors

Founders, startup advisors, accelerators, VC platform teams and sales teams selling to funds use this data in venture capital, startup fundraising and investor-relations work.

### ⚠️ Limitations of the Signal NFX scraper

- **Emails come from the firm's website, not from Signal.** Signal itself hides emails and intro paths from logged-out visitors. With **Find investor emails** on, the actor looks them up from the firm's website instead, so investors at firms without a website, or with no public emails, get none. `email` is filled only when a contact matches the investor's first and last name. On a free Apify plan the email lookup covers only 1 investor per run.
- **Sparse optional fields.** Facebook links, previous position/firm, fund size, press links and free-text interests are often empty on Signal itself and come back as `null` or empty arrays.
- **Image URLs** are Signal redirect links that resolve to the photo.

### ❓ Signal NFX scraper FAQ

#### Can I scrape Signal by NFX legally?

This actor only collects investor data that Signal shows publicly without a login. Scraping publicly available data is generally considered lawful (see *hiQ Labs v. LinkedIn*), but you are responsible for following Signal's Terms of Service and privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA, because the records contain personal data.

#### What data does the Signal NFX scraper return?

Name, headline, position, firm, location, check sizes, sectors, stages, investment locations, round and investment counts, list memberships, list rank and social links come from the list. With "Scrape full investor profile" on (the default), you also get website, investment focus, experience, education, press links and every past investment.

#### How many investors can I scrape from one Signal list?

`maxItems` limits investors per start URL (per list), and Signal lists hold up to several thousand investors each (the SaaS seed list has 5,778). With "All investor lists" the limit applies to each of the 358 lists, and an investor already saved from one list is not saved again.

#### Do I need a proxy to scrape signal.nfx.com?

No. Proxies are off by default and the site responded without blocks in testing. Switch on a datacenter proxy only if you start getting errors on very large runs.

#### How do I scrape Signal NFX with Python?

Use the Python example above with the `apify-client` package, then iterate over the dataset items of the finished run.

#### Can I run this Signal NFX scraper on a schedule?

Yes, with Apify Schedules. Set a `cacheProjectName` and each run skips investors already scraped under that name. Skipped investors are not charged, and new ones are marked `changeType: "new"`.

#### What output formats are supported?

JSON, CSV, Excel, XML and RSS, either from the **Output** tab or through the Apify API.

#### Can I get investor emails from Signal NFX?

Yes, optionally. Signal only shows emails and intro paths to logged-in members, so the actor looks up the investor's firm website instead. Turn on **Find investor emails** and every record gets a `leads` array of contacts found for the firm (name, email, role, department, seniority, phone and LinkedIn), plus an `email` field when one of those contacts matches the investor. Records with no email found are not charged for it. Free Apify plans can enrich 1 investor per run, and paid plans have no limit.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Signal investor list URLs (for example https://signal.nfx.com/investor-lists/top-saas-seed-investors or https://signal.nfx.com/investor-lists/top-ai-seed-new-york-city-investors) or single investor URLs (for example https://signal.nfx.com/investors/george-zachary). Lists are scraped in Signal's ranking order.

## `allLists` (type: `boolean`):

Scrape every investor list linked from the Signal homepage (about 350 lists by sector, stage and location). Max items applies to each list, and an investor already saved from another list is not saved twice.

## `scrapeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Get the website, investment focus, experience, education, press links and all past investments (company, round, amount, date) for every investor. Turn off for faster runs with the list data only (headline, location, firm, position, check size, sectors, stages, socials, investment and round counts). Investor URLs always include the full profile.

## `enrichLeads` (type: `boolean`):

Looks up the website of each investor's firm and adds the emails found (with name, role and LinkedIn when available) as a 'leads' array, plus 'email' when one of them is the investor's own. Needs the firm to have a website. Adds a separate charge only for investors where at least one email was found. Free Apify plans get this for 1 investor per run; paid plans have no limit.

## `cacheProjectName` (type: `string`):

Use the same name on each scheduled run to get only new investors. Investors already scraped under this name are skipped and not charged, and they do not count towards Max items. Each record gets changeType: new.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum unique investors saved for each investor list.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

This website works without a proxy. Enable Apify Proxy only if you get blocked.
