## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Google Play Reviews Scraper: Android App Reviews & Ratings

Scrape Google Play reviews for any Android app: star rating, text, date, thumbs-up, app version and developer reply. Thousands per app, any country/language, filter by stars and date. Fast HTTP, no login.

### What you can use it for

- **Product feedback mining**: feed 1-2★ reviews into an LLM to find the top bugs and feature requests per release.
- **Competitor analysis**: see exactly what users hate (and love) about rival Android apps.
- **Release monitoring**: schedule daily with `postedWithinDays: 1` and alert on rating drops or crash complaints.
- **Support QA**: track which reviews got a developer reply and how fast.
- **Multi-market sentiment**: run several countries and languages in one go.

### How to use it

1. Click **Try for free**, fill in the input (the defaults are a working example) and press **Start**.
2. Download results as **JSON, CSV, Excel** or HTML, or read them through the Apify API.
3. Put it on a **schedule** and connect **Slack, Google Sheets, Make, Zapier, n8n or webhooks** to get fresh data automatically.

### Input

| Field | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `appIdsOrUrls` | App IDs or URLs | Package names or Play Store URLs, e.g. com.spotify.music or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music |
| `language` | Language | Two-letter language code (hl), e.g. en, de, es, fr, pt, ja. Reviews are returned in this language. |
| `countries` | Countries | Two-letter Google Play country codes (gl), e.g. us, gb, de, in, br. |
| `sortBy` | Sort | Order of reviews. |
| `ratings` | Star ratings | Only these star ratings (empty = all). Filtered server-side by Google. |
| `postedWithinDays` | Posted within (days) | Stop at reviews older than N days (Newest sort only). |
| `maxReviewsPerApp` | Max reviews per app per country | Popular apps have hundreds of thousands of reviews; set how many you need. |
| `includeAppInfo` | Add app info to each review | Adds appTitle, appScore, appRatings and appDeveloper columns (one extra request per app). |
| `maxItems` | Max results | Hard cap on dataset items, so you control cost. |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "appIdsOrUrls": [
    "com.spotify.music",
    "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp"
  ],
  "maxReviewsPerApp": 200,
  "maxItems": 400
}
```

### Output

One dataset row per review. Example:

```json
{
  "appId": "com.spotify.music",
  "reviewId": "16ab577a-51fa-4cf4-ae34-fe62d4de2fc6",
  "userName": "Avery B.",
  "rating": 1,
  "text": "Constant stopping issues since last update...",
  "date": "2026-10-14T13:26:11+00:00",
  "thumbsUpCount": 0,
  "appVersion": "9.1.90.2270",
  "replyAuthor": "Spotify AB",
  "replyText": "Hi there. Thanks for letting us know about this issue...",
  "replyDate": "2026-10-13T09:43:17+00:00",
  "language": "en",
  "country": "us",
  "appTitle": "Spotify: Music and Podcasts",
  "appScore": 4.348,
  "appRatings": 36482242,
  "appDeveloper": "Spotify AB",
  "reviewUrl": "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music&reviewId=16ab577a-51fa-4cf4-ae34-fe62d4de2fc6"
}
```

The **Overview** table view shows the key columns; the full record has every field.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$0.30 per 1,000 reviews** plus a tiny $0.005 start fee. No subscription. Set **Max results** to cap your spend; Apify's per-run cost limit is respected too.

### Why this actor

- Uses official public APIs / feeds / public pages only: no login, no cookies, no personal accounts.
- Fast HTTP-only (no browser), so it's cheap and reliable at volume.
- Retries, rate-limit back-off and clear warnings: one bad input never kills the run.

### FAQ

**How many reviews can I get?** As many as Google Play serves for the app in that language: often tens of thousands. Set `maxReviewsPerApp` and `maxItems` to control volume and cost.

**Why fewer reviews than the store shows?** The rating count includes star-only ratings without text; Google only lists reviews with text, and per language.

**iOS?** Use our **App Store Reviews Scraper** for Apple apps.

**App metadata?** Use our **Google Play App Scraper** for installs, ratings histogram, developer contacts and more.

**Need a field or source added?** Open an issue on the Issues tab; we usually ship fixes within days.
