## Pricing

Pay per event

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Thunderstore Mods Scraper

Export game mods from **[Thunderstore](https://thunderstore.io)** — the major mod platform for Risk of Rain 2, Valheim, Lethal Company, Content Warning, V Rising, Among Us, and 300+ other communities. Get clean structured data for every package: name, owner, description, total downloads, rating, categories, latest version, dependencies, website, and optional version history.

Data comes from Thunderstore’s public REST API (global catalog + community package-listing-index shards). No browser, no proxy, no login.

### What can it do?

- **Community export.** Pull every package for a game (`lethal-company`, `valheim`, `riskofrain2`, …) via the official listing-index shards.
- **Global catalog.** Empty community = the shared `/api/v1/package/` catalog (~7.5k packages).
- **Search & filters.** Case-insensitive query across name / owner / description / categories; optional category, deprecated, and NSFW filters.
- **Sort.** Downloads, rating, updated, created, or name (ascending / descending).
- **Version history (optional).** Attach newest-first `versions[]` capped by `maxVersionsPerPackage`.
- **Discover games.** `listCommunities` returns Thunderstore community identifiers so you can pick a valid `community` slug.
- **Fast and cheap.** Pure JSON over HTTPS, concurrency ≤ 4 with Retry-After backoff. Runs on 512 MB.

### Use cases

- **Modding market datasets** for AI / RAG about Unity/BepInEx game ecosystems
- **Competitor / ecosystem tracking** for mod authors (downloads, ratings, release cadence)
- **Lead generation**: package owners and `websiteUrl` / GitHub links
- **Server & modpack research**: discover popular mods by downloads and category
- **Scheduled snapshots** of a Thunderstore community catalog

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `community` | string | Game slug (`lethal-company`, `valheim`, `riskofrain2`, …). Empty = global catalog. |
| `query` | string | Case-insensitive text filter. Empty = all (then sort / maxItems). |
| `category` | string | Optional category (`Mods`, `Modpacks`, `Tools`, …). |
| `sort` | string | `-downloads` (default), `-rating`, `-updated`, `-created`, `name`, or ascending variants. |
| `maxItems` | integer | Max packages to output (default 100). |
| `includeDeprecated` | boolean | Include deprecated packages (default `false`). |
| `includeNsfw` | boolean | Include NSFW packages (default `false`). |
| `includeVersions` | boolean | Attach `versions[]` (default `false`). |
| `maxVersionsPerPackage` | integer | Cap on versions when included (default 5; `0` = all). |
| `listCommunities` | boolean | Output community list instead of packages (default `false`). |

Example: top Lethal Company mods by downloads:

```json
{ "community": "lethal-company", "sort": "-downloads", "maxItems": 100 }
```

Example: Valheim tools matching “map”:

```json
{
  "community": "valheim",
  "query": "map",
  "category": "Tools",
  "sort": "-downloads",
  "maxItems": 50,
  "includeVersions": true
}
```

### Output

}
```
### Pricing
Pay-per-event: **$0.002 per package** ($2 per 1,000 results).
### Notes
- Uses Thunderstore’s public API only. Identifies as `thunderstore-mods-scraper (Apify; +https://apify.com/confidential_marina)`.
- Community mode prefers `/c/{community}/api/v1/package-listing-index/` shards (gzip) for memory-friendly exports of large games.
- Rate limits are respected with concurrency ≤ 4 and Retry-After backoff.
# Actor input Schema
## `community` (type: `string`):
Thunderstore community identifier (game slug), e.g. riskofrain2, valheim, lethal-company, among-us, content-warning, v-rising. Empty = global package catalog (~7.5k packages). Use listCommunities to discover identifiers.
## `query` (type: `string`):
Case-insensitive filter across name, full name, owner, description, and categories. Empty = all packages (then sorted / capped by maxItems).
## `category` (type: `string`):
Optional category filter (exact match, case-insensitive), e.g. Mods, Modpacks, Tools, Libraries, Skins. Empty = all categories.
## `sort` (type: `string`):
How to order results. Prefix with - for descending.
## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
Maximum packages to output.
## `includeDeprecated` (type: `boolean`):
When false (default), skip packages marked deprecated.
## `includeNsfw` (type: `boolean`):
When false (default), skip packages flagged as NSFW.
## `includeVersions` (type: `boolean`):
Attach a versions\[] array (newest first). Increases output size.
## `maxVersionsPerPackage` (type: `integer`):
When includeVersions is true, cap how many versions are kept (0 = all).
## `listCommunities` (type: `boolean`):
When true (and community/query empty), output Thunderstore community identifiers (game list) instead of packages. Useful to discover valid community slugs.
