## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Hotels Scraper - Prices and Rate Calendar

Extracts hotel prices from Google Hotels for given dates, guests and currency.

### What it does

- **Search mode:** one row per hotel for a search query such as "hotels in Barcelona". Includes name, property type, hotel class, guest rating, review count, nightly price, price with taxes, deal note, amenities, coordinates and a Google Hotels link. Results are paginated and de-duplicated.
- **Booking-site rates (optional):** for each hotel, the rates listed by Google from booking sites and the hotel's official site, with nightly and total prices and links.
- **Price calendar mode:** the price of selected hotels for each check-in date in a date range, with the cheapest booking site and a summary per hotel (cheapest and most expensive date, median price).

Google's filters are supported: hotel class, minimum guest rating, price range, amenities, free cancellation, special offers and sort order. Class, rating, price and ten amenities are checked again on every row; rows that do not match are dropped and not charged.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `queries` | Search queries, e.g. `["hotels in Barcelona"]` |
| `checkIn`, `checkOut` | Dates in YYYY-MM-DD |
| `adults`, `childrenAges` | Party size |
| `currency`, `language`, `country` | Currency code and Google locale |
| `hotelClass`, `minRating`, `minPrice`, `maxPrice`, `amenities`, `sortBy` | Filters |
| `maxResultsPerQuery` | Maximum hotels per query |
| `includeOffers` | Add booking-site rates |
| `mode` | `search` or `priceCalendar` |
| `hotelUrls`, `hotelNames`, `calendarTopHotels` | Hotels for the price calendar: Google Hotels URLs or tokens, hotel names with city (e.g. "Hotel Adlon Berlin"), or the top hotels of each search query |
| `calendarStartDate`, `calendarDays`, `calendarStepDays`, `calendarNights` | Calendar range |
| `calendarFastMode`, `calendarListPages` | Price hotels from search result pages where possible, and how many result pages to check per date |

Example:

```json
{
  "queries": ["hotels in Vilnius"],
  "checkIn": "2026-12-10",
  "checkOut": "2026-12-11",
  "currency": "EUR",
  "maxResultsPerQuery": 20
}
```

### Output

One dataset row per hotel (search mode) or per hotel and check-in date (price calendar mode). Data can be downloaded as JSON, CSV, Excel or via the API. Example row from a test run (selected fields):

```json
{
  "position": 1,
  "query": "hotels in Vilnius",
  "name": "Hotel Vilnia",
  "propertyType": "hotel",
  "stars": 4,
  "rating": 4.7,
  "price": 70.11,
  "currency": "EUR",
  "checkIn": "2026-12-10",
  "checkOut": "2026-12-11",
  "adults": 2,
  "googleHotelsUrl": "https://www.google.com/travel/hotels/entity/..."
}
```

Price calendar by hotel name:

```json
{
  "mode": "priceCalendar",
  "hotelNames": ["Hotel Adlon Berlin"],
  "calendarStartDate": "2026-12-10",
  "calendarDays": 7,
  "currency": "EUR"
}
```

If Google does not find a name directly, nearby hotels are checked for a close name match. Names that still do not match return an error row that is not charged.

Run statistics are saved to the key-value store as `RUN_STATS`.

### Pricing

Pay per event:
| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Hotel row | $2.50 per 1,000 |
| Booking-site rates for one hotel | $2.00 per 1,000 |
| Price-calendar row with a price | $3.00 per 1,000 |

Duplicates, failed lookups, rows removed by filters and calendar dates without a price are not charged. Charges never exceed the maximum cost per run that you set.

### Limitations

- Prices are those shown by Google at the time of the run and can change.
- Google may return fewer hotels or booking-site rates than requested, for example for larger parties.
- Free cancellation and special offers are applied by Google and are not checked again on each row.
- The Actor depends on the structure of Google's pages and may need updates when it changes.
