## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## QuickBooks ProAdvisors · Phones, Websites & Firms

Export **US QuickBooks ProAdvisors** from the public Intuit Find a ProAdvisor directory — name, firm, **phone**, **website**, LinkedIn, services, city, and state. Search by city or paste profile URLs. One row per advisor.

**No login. No API key. No Intuit account.**

### Who is this for?

| You are… | Typical goal | Suggested setup |
|----------|--------------|-----------------|
| Payroll / Bill.com / TaxDome SDR | Accountants already on QuickBooks | **Miami, FL** · 10 miles · contacts on · website / LinkedIn on |
| Bookkeeping SaaS | Territory list of ProAdvisors | A metro ZIP · 25 miles · then raise Max advisors |
| Payments / AP automation | Firms that serve local SMBs | City + services view |
| Agency / outbound | CRM file with phone and site | Keep **Only rows with email or phone** on |
| Ops / data | Enrich profile links you already have | Paste **Profile URLs** |

**What you get by default:** advisor name, firm, city, state, ZIP, profile URL, plus **website, LinkedIn, Facebook, services, industries, languages and credentials** when the public profile publishes them. **Phone** is copied from the public profile — not invented. **Email is uncommon**: Intuit does not print a mailbox on most cards. Typical Miami fill (Aug 2026 probe): phones and websites on claimed profiles; LinkedIn on many; inbox usually empty.

**Names-only:** turn **Website, LinkedIn, services and credentials** off if you only need identity from the search cards.

### How to use

1. Open this Actor in Apify Console.
2. Keep **Miami, FL** (or type another **City, ST** / ZIP).
3. Leave **Only rows with email or phone** on, and leave **Website, LinkedIn, services and credentials** on.
4. Click **Start**.
5. Download JSON / CSV / Excel — views: **Overview**, **Outreach CRM**, **Services**.

**Max advisors = 0** → no Actor-side ceiling (Free plan still stops at **20** / run).

### Ready-made examples (published tasks)

| Example | Best for |
|---------|----------|
| [Miami QuickBooks ProAdvisors with phones](https://apify.com/corent1robert/quickbooks-proadvisor-contacts/examples/miami-quickbooks-proadvisor-phones) | South Florida accountant outreach |
| [New York QuickBooks ProAdvisors](https://apify.com/corent1robert/quickbooks-proadvisor-contacts/examples/new-york-quickbooks-proadvisors) | NYC metro firms |
| [Los Angeles QuickBooks ProAdvisors](https://apify.com/corent1robert/quickbooks-proadvisor-contacts/examples/los-angeles-quickbooks-proadvisors) | Southern California territory |
| [Enrich ProAdvisor profile URLs](https://apify.com/corent1robert/quickbooks-proadvisor-contacts/examples/enrich-quickbooks-proadvisor-profile-urls) | Phone + website from pasted links |

### What it extracts

| Category | Fields |
|----------|--------|
| Identity | `name`, `firstName`, `lastName`, `firmName`, `searchId` |
| Contact | `email`, `emails`, `phone`, `phones`, `website` |
| Social | `linkedin`, `facebook`, `instagram`, `twitter`, `youtube` |
| Location | `street`, `city`, `state`, `zip`, `latitude`, `longitude`, `distanceMiles` |
| Practice | `services`, `industries`, `languages`, `credentials`, `software`, `certifications`, `advancedProAdvisor`, `freeConsultation`, `yearsInBusiness` |
| Profile | `about`, `rating`, `reviewCount`, `profileUrl`, `hasEmail`, `hasPhone`, `hasWebsite`, `hasLinkedin`, `scrapedAt` |

Intuit support numbers and `intuit.com` mailboxes / sites are dropped. Search cards do **not** print phone or email — those come from the public profile when the advisor published them.

**Typical fill (Miami profiles, Aug 2026):** phone and website on most claimed profiles; LinkedIn often present; **email rarely published** on the directory. The Actor never invents a mailbox.

### How it works

1. Open the public Find a ProAdvisor search for the city or ZIP you typed.
2. Copy name, firm, city, and profile link from the result list.
3. Copy published phone, website, LinkedIn, services and credentials from each public advisor card **when published**.
4. Write one row immediately — the Dataset fills as the run goes.

### How much does it cost to scrape QuickBooks ProAdvisors?

Pay-per-event on each exported advisor, plus a ~$0.00005 start. The public directory hydrates in the browser, so compute uses about 2048 MB.

| | Free | Bronze | Silver | Gold | Platinum | Diamond |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Advisor with email | $0.00399 | $0.00349 | $0.00299 | $0.00249 | $0.00249 | $0.00249 |
| Advisor with phone only | $0.00249 | $0.00219 | $0.00189 | $0.00169 | $0.00169 | $0.00169 |
| Advisor without contact | $0.00149 | $0.00129 | $0.00109 | $0.00099 | $0.00099 | $0.00099 |
| 20 phones (Try) | **$0.05** | $0.04 | $0.04 | $0.03 | $0.03 | $0.03 |
| 1,000 with phone | **$2.49** | $2.19 | $1.89 | $1.69 | $1.69 | $1.69 |

Free Apify plan: **20 advisors per run**. Paid plans follow your max charge.

### Is it legal to scrape Find a ProAdvisor?

This Actor only copies data Intuit publishes on **public** search and profile pages. Names, emails and phones are personal data — make sure your use complies with GDPR, CAN-SPAM, TCPA and any rules that apply to you. This is not legal advice.

### Is scraping Find a ProAdvisor free?

The directory does not charge to view public search and profile pages. You still pay Apify PPE (and browser compute). There is no high-volume free path.

**[French Accountants · Expert-Comptable Directory](https://apify.com/corent1robert/experts-comptables-annuaire-scraper)** — official Ordre firms with phones (no email on that register).

**[ASHI Home Inspectors](https://apify.com/corent1robert/ashi-homeinspector-scraper)** — US inspector emails and phones by state.

### Local development

```bash
cd quickbooks-proadvisor-contacts
npm install
cp .actor/INPUT.json storage/key_value_stores/default/INPUT.json
apify run --purge
```

Use `apify run` (not `npm start`). Default **INPUT.json** must include required schema fields (or pass `--input-file`). Local `storage/` is not synced to Apify Console. Root `input.json` is merged locally; CLI KV input wins on key collision.

`npm test` runs parser unit tests (no network).

### FAQ

**Does every row have an email?** No. Find a ProAdvisor almost never prints a mailbox. The Actor never invents one. Phone and website are the usual CRM fields.

**Where does the phone come from?** The public advisor card (directory listing), not a click on “reveal phone”. Search result rows do not show a number.

**Will a 20-row Try finish in 5 minutes?** Yes — typically well under a minute for a metro search.

**Why a city and not a US state?** The public directory requires a location. Use a metro city or ZIP and raise the radius.
