## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Amazon ASIN Rating & Review Count Scraper

Get the **star rating** and **total ratings count** for any list of Amazon ASINs — fast, cheap, no login needed.

### What you get

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `asin` | `B0G7RYP439` |
| `title` | Spigen GlasTR EZ Fit Privacy Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Galaxy S26 |
| `rating` | `4.2` |
| `ratingsCount` | `2948` |
| `marketplace` | `amazon.com` |
| `url`, `scrapedAt` | product link, UTC timestamp |

`found: false` = the ASIN doesn't exist / is delisted. `found: null` + `error` = Amazon blocked every retry (not charged).

### Input

- **ASINs** — plain ASINs or product URLs (duplicates removed)
- **Marketplace** — `com`, `co.uk`, `de`, `fr`, `it`, `es`, `co.jp`, `in`, `ca`, `com.au`, … (19 domains)
- **Max concurrency** — default 40 parallel sessions, max 50 (auto-capped to the run's memory: ~1 session per 12 MB)
- **Proxy** — residential proxies recommended (default)

### Use cases

Track your own and competitors' ratings over time, monitor rating drops after a product change, build catalog dashboards, schedule daily/weekly snapshots.

### Speed

About 3,400 ASINs in ~5.5 minutes at the default 512 MB–1 GB. Extra memory beyond 1 GB doesn't add speed.

### How it works

Fetches each product page through Apify datacenter proxies (auto-escalating to residential for blocked ASINs) with a real-browser TLS fingerprint, passes Amazon's "continue shopping" interstitial, and retries blocked requests on a fresh IP (up to 6 times).

# Actor input Schema

## `asins` (type: `array`):

Amazon ASINs (10 chars) or product URLs.

## `marketplace` (type: `string`):

Amazon domain suffix (amazon.<marketplace>).

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Parallel browser-like sessions (each with its own IP and cookies). Automatically capped to what the run memory supports (~1 session per 12 MB: 512 MB → 42, 1 GB → 50). The actor backs off on its own if Amazon starts blocking.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Default: Apify datacenter proxy, automatically escalating to residential for ASINs that get blocked. Pick a proxy group to force it for every request.

## `debugHtml` (type: `boolean`):

Store fetched pages in the key-value store for troubleshooting.
