## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Jobberman Scraper

Scrape live job listings from [Jobberman.com](https://www.jobberman.com), Nigeria's largest job board. Search by keyword, location, industry, job function, and experience level, or fetch full job details — description, salary, deadline, requirements — from listing URLs. No login, no cookies, no paid proxy required.

### What this actor does

- **Two modes:** `search` (keyword + filters) and `byUrls` (direct listing fetch)
- **Filters:** location, industry, job function, experience level, employment type, salary range, keyword
- **Sorting:** Latest (default), Featured, or Popular — Jobberman's own result ordering
- **Rich detail enrichment:** optionally follows each listing to pull the full job description, requirements, application deadline, and company info
- **Deduplication:** the same listing is never emitted twice, even across pages
- **Empty fields are omitted** — every record only contains data actually present on the listing

### Output per job

- `jobId` — Jobberman's internal listing ID
- `title`, `companyName`, `location`
- `employmentType` — `fullTime` / `partTime` / `contract` / `internship` / `temporary` / `volunteer`
- `category` — occupational category (e.g. "Accounting, Auditing & Finance")
- `industry` — hiring company's industry
- `experienceLevel`, `experienceMonths`
- `educationLevel` — minimum education requirement (e.g. "HND", "Bachelor's Degree", "High School (S.S.C.E)"), when the employer specified one
- `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryPeriod` (only when disclosed)
- `descriptionHtml`, `descriptionText` — full job description (when `includeFullDescription` is on)
- `datePosted`, `validThrough` — ISO 8601 timestamps
- `datePostedRelative` — e.g. "Today", "3 days ago" (only when the absolute date wasn't fetched)
- `isFeatured`, `isNew`, `isEasyApply`
- `addressLocality`, `addressRegion`, `addressCountry`
- `companyLogoUrl`
- `directApply`
- `sourceUrl` — canonical listing URL
- `recordType: "job"`, `scrapedAt`

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `mode` | string | `search` | `search` / `byUrls` |
| `searchQuery` | string | `sales` | Free-text keyword (mode=search); leave empty to browse all listings |
| `location` | select | – | Filter to a Jobberman location region |
| `industry` | select | – | Filter to an industry |
| `jobFunction` | select | – | Filter to a job function |
| `experienceLevel` | select | – | Filter to an experience level |
| `employmentType` | select | – | Filter to an employment type (applied client-side) |
| `minSalary` / `maxSalary` | int | – | Salary bounds (NGN/month); jobs with undisclosed salary always pass through |
| `containsKeyword` | string | – | Substring filter on title/company/description |
| `sortBy` | select | `latest` | Result order: `latest` / `featured` / `popular` |
| `listingUrls` | array | – | Direct listing URLs (mode=byUrls) |
| `includeFullDescription` | bool | `true` | Fetch each listing's detail page for full description/salary/deadline |
| `maxItems` | int | `30` | Hard cap (1–1000) |

#### Example: mid-level IT jobs in Lagos

```json
{
  "mode": "search",
  "searchQuery": "developer",
  "location": "lagos",
  "industry": "it-telecoms",
  "experienceLevel": "mid-level",
  "maxItems": 30
}
```

#### Example: fetch specific listings

```json
{
  "mode": "byUrls",
  "listingUrls": ["https://www.jobberman.com/listings/accountstax-senior-2k886k"]
}
```

### Use cases

- **Job seekers** — build custom alerts or dashboards for Nigerian job openings by industry/location.
- **Recruiters & staffing agencies** — monitor market rates and competitor job postings.
- **Labor-market researchers** — track hiring trends, salary bands, and in-demand skills across Nigeria.
- **HR tech products** — power a job-aggregation feature with fresh, structured listing data.

### FAQs

**Does this require a Jobberman account or API key?**
No. The actor scrapes publicly available listing pages — no login, cookies, or API key needed.

**How current is the data?**
Every run fetches live pages directly from jobberman.com; there is no caching layer.

**Why are some fields missing on some jobs?**
Jobberman listings vary — not every job discloses a salary, and some employers post anonymously. Only fields actually present on the page are included (no placeholder/sentinel values).

**Can I filter by salary?**
Yes — `minSalary`/`maxSalary` filter on disclosed salary bands (NGN/month). Jobs with an undisclosed salary always pass through so you don't miss them.

**Why does `location` only offer ~12 options instead of all 36 Nigerian states?**
Only the values in the dropdown are confirmed to actually narrow Jobberman's results server-side. Individual state-name query values outside this curated list were tested and found to be silently ignored by jobberman.com (it falls back to the unfiltered listing instead of erroring), so they were deliberately left out rather than shipped as a filter that looks like it works but doesn't. Use `containsKeyword` or `searchQuery` together with a broad `location` value to narrow further.
